Okay, here's a real review.
Courtney Barnett is a guitar rocker from Melbourne Australia. She is left handed. Spotify's page for her lists some of her related artists as Parquet Courts and Julien Baker, which works perfectly. Her music is guitar forward but lyrically interesting. Her songs are "clever," but not in a Ben Gibbard "look at me, I went to college" sort of way. Her lyrics tell winding and intricate, but relatable, stories. I always felt her lyric writing had a lot in common with Jens Lekman.
Courtney has 3.5 US albums. Her first, an EP collection called A Sea of Split Peas came in 2014, followed by Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit in 2015. These are her two best, with Sit and Think generally is considered her best.
The lead single from Sit and Think, "Pedestrian at Best," is the prototypical Courtney Barnett song, crunchy guitar paired with fulsome lyrics.
The best track of Split Peas, "Avant Gardner," shows Courtney at her lyrical best telling the story of nearly dying from anaphylactic shock.
In 2017 she did a joint album with Kurt Vile called Lotta Sea Lice. This one's okay, but to me sounds more like a Kurt Vile album than a Courtney Barnett album. She doesn't play these tracks at her solo shows.
In 2018 Barnett released her most recent album, Tell Me How You Really Feel. It didn't receive quite the same attention as her other two, and is marked by being a little more sad lyrically. But "Charity" and "Nameless, Faceless" are standout tracks. And "Take a Little Time" is good if you're feeling like a sad mope.

Also, when she last played Bonnaroo, some dude around here “reviewed” her set and ended up talking almost exclusively about how she looked. Fuck that guy. Don’t do that.
She’s pretty good, but not a must see for me. If there aren’t any conflictions, I’ll likely check her set out, though.
Don’t fuck this up.
What he said. My wife and I both love her but it got way too hot during her show at SK last year and we went to get water. Mistake. Stay there and die. At least you'll see Courtney Barnett before you leave this earth.

Depreston is my personal favorite, but she doesn't really have any bad songs. Lotta Sea Lice is a bit of a snooze (not really a Kurt Vile fan), but LP2 has grown on me a good deal
Saw her in 2014 at Fun Fun Fun, and was a bit underwhelmed tbh. She was a little bland live. But, in her defense, that was also before "Sometimes I Sit and Think ...", which I loved. Also, as far as I can tell from watching videos of her shows, she's picked up the energy massively. I hope to see her set this year for sure.

You are so right. Sometimes I Sit is her best album & her live show energy was way higher last year at forecastle when compared to her last Roo appearance (2015?). Give her another try. I was sad that I had to leave about two thirds thru her set to get a good spot for Arcade Fire. So to e1 that was grooving to CB while some asshole in the front was weaving his way out B4 the end of her awesome set--sorry.

The more I listened to Tell Me How You Really Feel the more I loved it. Hopefulessness is awesome, I really love City Looks Pretty, Charity, and Help Your Self too.
