After high school, he briefly attended Tarrant County College before moving to Los Angeles with a friend. Thanks to Voltron for pointing me toward the Dylan cover.
Physical Reaction/Live Show I haven't seen him live. I did find a show on YouTube that seems to be a large scale event. This might translate well to what to expect at Bonnaroo.
Interesting Facts Post is a grab bag of interesting facts. Separate from his music, I think his persona has helped him drive to the level of stardom he is at. -Similar to Childish Gambino, his stage name came with the influence of an internet rap name generator. He started with his last name, Post. The name generator added Malone. A rumor stated the Malone was a reference to Karl Malone. Post has later denied this. -Post has faced controversy throughout his career for culture appropriation. -Post has numerous tattoos. Some are inspirations to his career such as Elvis, Dimebag Darrell, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon and Bob Dylan. Others include a tribute to Lil Peep, a Playboy Bunny (his first) and a snake wrapped around an M16 (Post is a second amendment advocate). -Post stated in December 2016 that he would have performed at Trump's inaugaration if asked but later expressed a dislike for Trump. Post has stated that neither Trump not Clinton deserved the presidency citing Bernie Sanders as the candidate who should have been elected to office. -Post's favorite president is JFK stating, "the only President to speak out against the crazy corruption stuff that's going on in our government nowadays.". He has a JFK tattoo on his hand. -In addition to appearing on a song on the soundtrack, Post appeared in Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse as "Brooklyn Bystander" -Post has stated he learned the basics of guitar from Guitar Hero and later from YouTube videos. -He has an extensive loafer collection and a signature pair of Crocs. -Congratulations currently has 955 million views on YouTube. -Born July 4, 1995, Post will be 23 at the time of his Bonnaroo performance which makes him one of the (if not the) youngest headliner in the history of Bonnaroo.
Personal Notes Prior to taking on this, I had never knowingly listened to a Post Malone track. I had heard of him. Given that I heard generally heard rapper in association with his music, I was taken by surprise when I first listened to him as I feel he has much more of an R&B sound to his vocals. I listened to about two hours of him at random on Spotify. Some of his lyrics are suspect but the music is decent bordering on good at times. If I end up at Bonnaroo this year, I do not plan to seek out his show, but I do not think he is as bad as I have seen some in popular media make him out to be.
My brother told me a couple of weeks ago that Post Malone is a trained opera singer. Which, if true, is hilarious to me. Idk where he got that information, but I really hope it’s true.
Didn’t link rockstar, unreal. Not only the most catchy, but also the one that shows off his voice the best imo.
But yeah this show will be painfully average.
I picked the songs off several reddit polls of what their favorite tracks by him were. The first three were the ones that seem to have come up the most. Rockstar was up there.

I forgot two things.
-I saw a meme once that mentioned that his mustache looks like two dogs kissing. I haven't been able to unsee it yet. -When I mentioned that I was writing about Post in front of my 13yo, he immediately stated, "I hear he smells awful, like old milk." I have no idea if this is true.
Everyone has their thing. In the article I got that from, he stated saved up when he was very first starting out to get a $800 pair of Versace loafers.

Better Now intermittently gets stuck in my head for no reason, and to add insult to injury I don't know any of the words to it beyond the title. It's quite aggravating
FWIW, I saw him do an extremely brief set at a free SXSW show in 2015, and he was actually ok imo. Only major song I remember him performing was White Iverson (I thought it was funny and ended up adding it to some playlists). But yeah, this is gonna be an average headlining set if there ever was one.

I can't help it. The more I listen, the more I enjoy it. I've gone from "Yeah I'll be there" to "I'm looking forward to his set". It's so bro-core which isn't my style at all but
-He has an extensive loafer collection and a signature pair of Crocs.
Just when I thought I couldn't be any more repulsed by this guy...you drop this nugget on me and send my level of revilement to a new level. Signature Crocs = instant douche

He actually has two signature pairs because the first sold so well. Haha

no nans, i think it's going to be a lot of fun.
Looking forward to this show. What appeals me about Post Malone is that he is the only new generation rapper I like! (Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, JuiceWrld I really dont like at all) but he breaks through the fold. His beats are very textured and gotta respect his melody with songs while still delivering good rhymes.
