How can an American not know what a sweet potato is? They're everywhere.
I like that he clearly didn’t try to Google sweet potatoes before making his video acting like they’re the strangest thing he’s ever encountered.
Also, I’ve been making this sweet potato and black bean one pan dinner lately. It’s really good and so easy. I replaced the rice with corn because I was too lazy to cook rice. We had it once this week on its own with some garlic bread, and then we used the leftovers as filling for burritos.

Has anyone else tried the new Coca-Cola Dreamworld? Pretty sure it must be called Dreamworld because they mixed children's liquid Benadryl in Coke to make the new flavor. Bluck.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I like it 🙃
I should note that it is the Coke Zero. Maybe the regular tastes better. Totally a cough syrupy flavor going on in this one.

If you like cough syrup soda, I highly recommend strawberry Mr Pibb. I wouldn't say it was good. It's like carbonated cough syrup and yet it was my go to until I quit soda a few months back.

Did y'all use to Robotrip or something?
T3ddy F1a1r I did ask someone else to taste it and they said "Is this triaminic?". So maybe it is just the Zero and the aftertaste mixing with it. But def a cough syrup/benadryl finish to this vintage.

i used to robotrip in high school before i had access to real psychedelic drugs. one time late freshmen year in college we had a promise of LSD that didn't come through, we were all frustrated so decided to give the ole robitussin trip a shot again. easily the worst trip of my life, and I once took AMT at a String Cheese Incident show.

we finally bought an air fryer and i like it. my wife brought home some leftover fries, which as we all know do not travel well. i threw them into the air fryer for five minutes, and while they didn't come out as good as fresh fries, they were pretty great.
also did the obvious wings which were delicious, as well as a frozen jamaican beef patty. so basically all of my recipe googles now are "<insert food here> air fryer".

Pork tenderloin works really well in the air fryer, if you like pork tenderloin.

I’m not a big fan of cough syrup, so I’ll stick with purple drank.
We are going to be hitting up Restaurant R'Evolution tonight which is one of the best restaurants in the city. I only went once when a colleague retired in 2013. Not sure why birthday child chose it since he's never been there before. But I promised him he would not be disappointed. Death by Gumbo is pretty incredible there. That was a new innovation on gumbo where the quail is stuffed with rice and file' and pan roasted. It falls apart into the gumbo and is quite delicious. The place itself reminds me of something out of Chicago or New York or L.A. because of the etched glasswork and the fact that they spent like $6 or $7 million on the space before they even started cooking in it.
I'm not sure whether they will have any specials tonight - probably so. But I'm thinking about Heirloom Tomato and Burrata, fire roasted gulf oysters, chilled gulf shrimp and sungold gazpacho for my starters/appetizers and out of the creole bouillabaisse, sea scallops & summer truffles or wild boar bolognese. Definitely ready for a quality ass meal.
R’evolution was great. Our server team was awesome, and we had a good time under their care. They brought us out an amuse bouche of some raw tuna with cured egg yolk. Then we got bread - a crusty rosemary roll and a sweet corn muffin. E and C started with Death By Gumbo. Both thought it was awesome. I got a few spoons and would agree. The smokiness they get from their roux and ingredients was notable and delicious. I got the chilled shrimp and sungold gazpacho. It was a tomato based, and the shrimp was coated in some white (creme fresh or mayo?) sauce to stir in and cream up the cold soup. Very good. E got the fire roasted oysters with bienville butter. They were perfectly cooked but maybe a bit more parmesan than I like. C got the heirloom tomato and burrata. Again the frisée had some type of mayonnaise dressing which I would not usually even try. But it was muted. Entree were a piece of yellowfin tuna with crab and coconut rice, a sous vide short rib with butter poached lobster and a CAB ribeye which is what I got. It was good beef but I should have gotten bouillabaisse but did the last minute pivot. For desert , I was looking hard at the bananas foster affogato but went with this southern peach semifreddo thing which was like deconstructed peach ice tea desert made of fresh peaches, upside down rum cake peach custard and frozen tea granita. They got almond creme brûlée bread pudding with red wine cherry white chocolate and amaretto Chantilly cream. Both kids said they would go back any time, and i would like to dig a little deeper into the menu. But outside of birthdays and special occasions, I can’t afford to eat at this level. 4 stars for Restaurant R’evolution. Only knock was one of the dishes I tried needed a little more salt for my tastes. And the ribeye was full of fat that the knife they gave me was having some issues with.
