Preparing for the mea-tox, tonight I did a steak in the cast iron for the first time ever - butter, smashed garlic, sprigs of thyme from the garden, cooked pretty well to medium rare - it was a delight.
Tomorrow I am ordering a piece of slow cooked lamb from a local restaurant. Going out in style before Friday hits.

So I got this Box of Yum subscription for Christmas. All sorts of weird flavors from around the world. Just tried turkey and stuffing flavored potato chips from Scotland. If you're ever in Scotland you can skip the turkey and stuffing flavored potato chips.
We're doing bacon-wrapped shrimp and sausage cheese balls. Also got some chicken curry takeout since it's gonna be straight tofu curry for awhile.
I'm in the middle of eating my last chicken wings for at least a month. But, I think I'm looking forward to the meat-ox (a phrase you coined and I stole, including an instagram hashtag now). I made a chickpea curry in the slow cooker this week that i'll make once a week - with chili, soups, salads, grilled cheese, roasted veggies - I think I have the vegetarian thing covered for January.
I'm also planning to lay off the booze for the month. Might get a late start on that because I overstocked on Maker's and beer last night.
If I took a month off, it might be April considering how much beer/cider I got in the basement at the moment.
I always tell myself April is good month to chill because there are a lot of drinking events for me at the end of March. St. Patrick's, Beer Bike, and my birthday, usually all in a week's span.
Roast that stuff. It's the only way to eat brussels sprouts.
air fryer on the roast setting, gets the outer leaves good and crunchy
Never used the air fryer for that. Actually, my wife gave our air fryer away and got some sort of air fryer thing for the instapot. I don't know, I haven't used it. I just roast in the oven.
