The AFC south has sent two teams to the playoffs the last two years. I don’t think the division is great, but al of this is straying from my original point that the Texans should not blow everything up at this point.
Also, the AFC East has been a much easier stomping ground for the Pats than the South would have been these last 10 years. The incompetence of those 3 teams has annoying assisted in that dynasty. Basically 3 Jaguars level squads in one division.

The entire problem in the AFC East has been the inability to find franchise QBs. They've all used first rounders on QBs - repeatedly, I believe - and none of them have hit. The most successful one is arguably Tannehill and he's average at best.

I saw where y’all picked up Ozigbo off waiver. He was somewhat of a fan favorite in camp and the preseason. He dropped a couple of passes but caught way more, was somewhat elusive and doesn’t mind trucking someone. I think Coach Payton must have thought he would clear waivers and would have added him to our practice squad. We kept Washington instead even though he took a cheap head shot and got knocked out of the game last week. If you haven’t seen Ozigbo’s preseason highlights, check some of them out.

K guys I'm not here for the AFC South banter, let's get back to the shit talking from NFC South fans. Who puts up the most money that their team wins the NFC South? Bucs fans, not so fast.

I’ve got $1 on the Bucs!
Do I hear 2 on the Saints? How about 2 on the Panthers?

Obviously bias because I live in the area (I’m a Jets fan though) but I think there is a very good chance Bucs finish second this year. I’m forced to watch all their games since it’s all we get and they’re a really talented team. They lost most of their games at the end of games because bad coaching and penalties etc. The secondary is sketchy too but I think under Arians, Winston throws for 4500 and they clean up on beating themselves up. Bowles is about as good as you can get for a D coordinator too. Bold prediction is the Saints regress and ATL takes the division.

NFL Picks:
AFC East - Pats North - Steelers South - Colts West - Chiefs Wildcards - Ravens, Jets
I think the Browns will be in the hunt but ultimately they'll Brown it up somehow (first year head coach will do that to you regardless of Browns status). I like the Ravens with Lamar's maturing and the Jets as an out of left field pick but I think Sam Darnold becomes a star; their line stinks though. The Chargers will regress for the same reason - maybe the worst offensive line in the game. Ekeler and Jackson will fill in for Mel Gordon fine though.
NFC East - Eagles North - Packers South - Saints West - Rams Wildcards - Vikings, 49ers
I picked the best player in the north as the reason the Packers win it. I don't trust Kirk (not Kurt) Cousins enough to win the division. The 49ers need Jimmy G to be a star but I think it can happen and they could be a surprise team this year.
AFC Championship - Pats at Chiefs, redux NFC Championship - Packers at Rams
If I wanted to argue, I'd say that the NFC North is better by a hair this year. But I'm not sure I believe it, I think those two are really close. I also think the AFC North will be pretty good if the Browns can actually not be the Browns.

I like the NFC north too but it’s hard to believe any of those teams tbh. It seems they always disappoint

packers bears and vikings could all conceivably be super bowl contenders, i don't think the falcons and panthers are, obviously the saints are. lions and buccs are ass. nfc north > nfc south

I don't see where the Saints have regressed at all (we do need Sheldon Rankins back sooner than later though). We've probably got the best team of the Coach Payton era at least since 2009. We were great last year, and we were great in 2017-2018. I don't see a fall off unless Brees is injured. We have a tough schedule, and it's conceivable that we could be 10-6 just as we could be 13-3 (which is tough to do on a first place schedule, but we did it last year). If we do slip record wise, it's also conceivable that either the Falcons or Panthers could be right there with us. Neither of those teams suck from an objective standpoint. I don't have an opinion on improvement by the Bucs at this point.
Where we have changes:
1) Tommylee Lewis left and we picked up Deonte Harris, the NCAA's all time leader in return TD's (Assumption). That's an improvement
2) Max Unger retires, and we drafted Erik McCoy. Unger is one of the greatest centers of all time. So it was tough losing him . We picked up some guys to compete for the center spot, but once McCoy started lining up with the first unit, he took that job. This is a downgrade for now but may end up being a wash in time.
3) Vince Biegel traded for Kiko Alonzo - Upgrade
4) Mark Ingram left in free agency, and we picked up Latavius Murray. ? I love Ingram so it's hard to replace him anyway. Remains to be seen
5) Ben Watson retired (and unretired later), we got Jared Cook. Watson is a great locker room guy and someone you want on your team to help mentor young players. Cook is a better TE by a wide margin. Upgrade
We're returning something like 17 or 18 starters from last year when we were probably the best team in the league at a lot of points during the year. I don't see how we regress as we certainly aren't short on talent.

I don’t think on paper the Saints have regressed at all. Ingram and Unger are tough loses but you made improvements elsewhere. Like I said I was making a bold prediction. I wouldn’t bet on the Saints being worse, but some key loses, tough schedule, Brees getting older and the emotional baggage and drainage of having the last two seasons end the way they did might add up. I’m not counting on it but I also wouldn’t be surprised
Yeah, and that's pretty fair. We do have a mfer schedule to begin the season which is my biggest concern. It was my concern last year too, but this year it's tough:
Texans on MNF @ Rams on Game of the Week @ Seahawks Game of the Week Cowboys on SNF
Bucs @ Jaguars @ Bears Game of the Week Cardinals
Bye Falcons @ Bucs Panthers
@ Falcons Thanksgiving Night 49ers Colts @ Titans @ Panthers
