I don't think Giants or you would have beaten us that other year. For the Rams game, I distinctly remember saying that the score wouldn't have been 13-3. Sure there's game planning for specific opponents. It's moot, but I don't believe New England could have held us to 3 points.

Your answer is pretty disingenuous, IMO. It's just a bunch of revisionist history and what-ifs. If Brees had won these games and super bowls he'd be as good or better than Brady. He didn't. He's not. I also just don't subscribe to your laundry list of statistics meaning what you say they mean.

It would be kind of ignorant, but you don't have to believe in statistics as a point of comparison. Number of completions, number of touchdowns, yards per attempt, etc. are exactly what they say they are. What do I say they mean? Nothing. I put them there for a point of comparison. If you have anything to refute a direct comparison of ACTUAL statistics instead of talking in abstract, please do.

No reason for personal attacks, but what point did I present incorrectly? I've talked about why I don't believe in statistics in comparison of individual players because all games don't exist in a vacuum. Every team has a different offense, a different game plan, and every game shakes out differently depending on injuries, game flow, etc. I don't think you can be surprised that Drew Brees has more passing yards than Tom Brady as the teams have been built completely differently. It's like throwing up a quarterback from an Air Raid offense and comparing them to a Pro-Style offense based on yards and touchdowns. Obviously this is an extreme, but it's what I mean. No one is saying Drew Brees is garbage. I think he's a perfectly excellent QB.
And no Saints-envy, here. I follow a team (won't say we) who has more Super Bowls than the Saints (not hard, since it's only one) and has only been around 20 years and has never had a QB who is remotely as good as Drew Brees or Tom Brady. Oh well.

The answer was not disingenuous. Tom Brady is and should be considered the greatest quarterback of all time. I said this multiple times and have said it before when the argument has arisen. I don't like saying it. I don't want to say it. But it's the way it is in reality. On the speculative side, Brees has a large enough body of work to also have been considered the greatest of all time. But he doesn't have the rings to back it up. If he did, my premise was that he would be the greatest of all time. I then produced a side-by-side comparison to show the basic stats you'd usually look at to compare quarterbacks without saying x meant z or some shit like that, and then I put up the list of records which slightly but clearly favor Brees over Brady in the regular season and Brady over all quaterbacks ever in the playoffs and superbowl.
I think you might have just misunderstood the point I was making. It wasn't that Brees was better than Brady, it's just that he might have been had a few things - some in our control, some out of it - would have worked out differently. They didn't. And they're both still playing, so there are opportunities to add to the stats, rings, etc. before either or both retire.
