The follow-up to that, which I don't have the answer to, would be would they call Offensive Pass Interference on the gunner if he threw the defender to the ground? There really shouldn't be the opportunity for this to go either way. If you can't get a DPI called, you shouldn't be able to get an OPI called either unless I'm missing something. Edit - apparently there is still OPI though not DPI. The penalty should have been called for holding though.
Rule 8: Section 5 Pass Interference
Article (3)(e) Note(3):
Whenever a team presents an apparent punting formation and until the ball is kicked, defensive acts that normally constitute pass interference against the end man on the line of scrimmage, or against an eligible receiver behind the line of scrimmage who is aligned or in motion more than one yard outside the end man on the line, provided that the acts do not constitute illegal holding. Defensive holding, such as tackling a receiver, still can be called a result in a five-yard penalty, from the previous spot, if accepted. Offensive pass interference rules still apply.
Terrible refs really are ruining this game. But it’s hard to feel bad for a team that’s been playing 11 on 16 ball for 15 years. But still you want the game to be called right. Kinda conflicted but don’t feel terrible. It’s a regular season game, it’s not the Saints call from last year.
We had an unfortunate call yesterday where we faked a punt and threw the ball downfield. Our "gunner" was the anticipated target and was held around his collar for the entire 40 yards he ran on the route. The NFL did not call a P.I. and noted that you can't review a holding call or non-call. Well how about throwing the flag for holding you stupid fucking blind moronic assholes? Saints and officiating controversies are nothing new. But it still sucks considering they gave the 49ers a 1st on a super brief (half second) holding call to convert a 3rd down by penalty where we'd stopped them on the very next series. Fuck those chump motherfuckers for their endless assfuckery.
My solution? Do like the NBA and expand on it. Besides calls on the field that need to be challenged, get one additional wildcard challenge you can use for anything.
I feel your frustration but the NFL is the good ol boys. It’s stupid how many PI challenges have had the play stand when it’s so clear it was. I don’t see anything changing unfortunately. But I’m a Jets fan so it doesn’t matter because they will never mean anything. Bucs too... I guess it builds character learning to not expect anything and lose every year lol.
Edit* do think we might be right with the Steelers If Darnold played all year. Mosley too. But I’ll take the W against the Cowboys, best moment since the Bart Scott “can’t wait”
It probably is actually innocent (it's the Bengals after all) but if you're the Pats you really need to cover your ass by being as transparent as possible.
I’m not sure the Pats are phased by monetary fines and obviously they have no shame for themselves or their fans. Draft picks and postseason being forfeited should get their attention.

you know that scene in return of the king where gollum embraces the ring as he falls off the ledge and finds happiness before being engulfed in the fires of mount doom? replace gollum with me and the ring is the 2017 season.

It’s the Giants. And it’s a game you literally can’t afford to lose. It’s not over, but maybe a more sincere effort would have shown something?

I watch the Eagles casually but otherwise don't pay much attention to football, and generally in sports I take claims of media bias against certain teams with a grain of salt, because it's the nature of fans to want to deflect any criticism against their team.
However.
I'm watching this Eagles/Giants game and it's about to cut to commercial before overtime starts. A graphic appears with Eli Manning on one side and Carson Wentz on the other. And the announcer says: "Who's going to win, New York's two-time MVP winner Eli Manning, or Carson Wentz, Philly's 26-year-old?"
That's it. PHILLY'S 26-YEAR-OLD.
Not Super Bowl winner or franchise record-holder for XYZ or even just 26-year-old quarterback. But no.
And it wasn't even like the announcer was abruptly cut off as it moved to commercial. No, the graphic remained on the screen so he still had time to speak. The disrespect was real.

on one hand carson hasn't really done much to warrant any clout in the national media, on the other hand, 26 isn't that young lol its not like he's a rookie
I don't know, but they did admit to inappropriate videoing apparently. Seems like you have to register for that kind of mistake.
Early Week Top/Bottom 10's:
1. Baltimore Ravens 2. San Francisco 49ers 3. Green Bay Packers 4. New England Patriots 5. Seattle Seahawks 6. New Orleans Saints 7. Kansas City Chiefs 8. Minnesota Vikings 9. Buffalo Bills T. Tennessee Titans
Bottom 10 1. Cincinatti Bengals 2. NY Giants 3. Washington Redskins 4. Miami Dolphins 5. Arizona Cardinals 6. Detroit Lions 7. Jacksonville Jaguars 8. Carolina Panthers 9. Atlanta Falcons T. New York Jets

Lol Titans over Steelers. The Steelers lost by 4 at San Fran (on a terrible James Conner fumble smh), at home to Seattle by 2 in the game they lost Ben, and to the Ravens in OT when JuJu fumbled and they had Duck Hodges replacing Rudolph due to injury.
TJ Watt should be DPOY and Tomlin is one of the 2-3 in the running for COY (though I think John Harbaugh would be a fine choice myself). The defense leads the league in sacks and takeaways. And we're gonna beat the Bills, who haven't beaten the Steelers since 1999.

I'm pretty sure it's 1975 since the Bills beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh in the regular season. #GoBills
^^ Make your top 10 if you want to put it out there and have the Steelers represented. Decent job of coaching by Coach Tomlin with all the adversity, but I've watched a bunch of games. If you think the 2 point loss to Seattle was an important measure, you lost to the Patriots by 30 the week before. You have also been on somewhat of a roll winning like 7 of the last 8 or so. But look at the competition. You literally beat one team with a winning record, the Rams who are currently at 8-5. Other wins:
Titans are on a 7 game winning streak and playing better. They're also scoring 24.46 ppg whereas you all are at 19.9. They've given up roughly the same amount of points (255 to 242). They've also scored at least 30 points in their last 5 games (30, 35, 42, 31, 42). They're behind Houston in the standings, but after that debacle vs. the Broncos, Texans aren't getting the Top 10 ranking in my week 14 rankings. Nor are the Steelers. In fact, the only way I think you get 2 of the last 3 wins is if the Ravens sandbag Week #17 because they have everything wrapped up that they can.

They did ruin 11-year-old Potent's Super Bowl dreams in the 1992 season by winning in Pittsburgh in Bill Cowher's first playoff game.
Seahawks just got lit up but idk how far they should fall.
We shouldn't be on a top 10 but neither should the Titans really.
They should have been at 5. I forgot to move them on my transfer. I have them just ahead of the Saints who beat them fairly soundly though the score was close.
