Yeah I'd imagine she's gotta be there. It sucks because if this festival was even ok I'd go since there's not much else around here in the fall but it's terrible, with awful crowds and probably will be again this year.

It was just a shit post back to T from an earlier thread. Besides the crowds, what makes it terrible? I’ve heard from a lot of ATLiens that Midtown is their least favorite festival. Lineups I can remember seemed to have at least a few good acts. But I trust y’all who know better.

Oh yeah I know I was just voicing my frustration. Cardi would actually be the most interesting thing on that top line. The crowd is a lot of high schoolers and people in college who are there to party and that's it. I've never been to Lolla but how people describe the crowds there makes it sound a lot like how midtown is.
RHCP are doing Ohana in September so I could them repeating. Really good crossover appeal and the youngins still love them.

Funny you should mention that as two different mid 20s guys in two separate conversations yesterday mentioned how much they loved seeing them at Bonnaroo. They get routinely panned here - sometimes legitimately. But they are still a pretty big draw for younger people and I really hope that sometime in the next few years they’d do a throwback tour playing shit off their first 6 albums.
As a 20-something youngin, I love RHCP. They were the best show I saw at Bonnaroo that year.
I’m a staunch RHCP defender here but I really have no interest in seeing them again unless Frusciante comes back or if they release a really good album, and neither are likely to happen. They really are just gonna keep playing the same set for the rest of their lives.

Yeah I get that. I'd be interested in seeing them again but just them wouldn't get me back to a festival. They'd be a selling point though because even though it would basically be the same show, it was two years ago at this point and they've got hits.

Possible news on Friday? They posted on Facebook for the first time in a couple months alluding to the time change and to not be late on Monday... 🤷🏼♂️

Black Keys and Modest Mouse out with a State Farm date in November.
I got a couple names today but apparently there was some switching around on the booking end and my guy isn’t super confident. Gonna try to confirm them through some other people because I think they could be easily tracked back if wrong. Feel free to send me some PMs, but the names might be worse than last year.
