Yeah, I dont see why they opted only for 5th Street Stage. At ECSC every year they have a pretty large stage for a bikini competition 5 streets down. They very easily could have made it a duel stage setup.
I imagine the entrance will be similar to the Patriotic Festival; although thats a joke because its fairly easy to sneak in. I know registered wristbands make this impossible, but for the Patriotic Fest you can literally get in by wristband swapping and giving yours to someone at the entrance. We had two wristbands to the Goo Goo Dolls for 5th Street and we got 10 people in off those two wristbands. I would hope security is upped; ESI is local and they handle Bonnaroo and Lock'n so Id expect them there.
Bummer forecast is calling for lightning Friday, but Sat/Sun are rain/storm free.
I can't believe I hadn't heard of this until today. Shame that Missy dropped out as a full set though. This looks awesome. I'm super jealous of everyone going!!
Makes me glad I picked Coachella over this. I feel bad for everyone that travelled for this. Could have been an amazing festival
I wouldnt say Fridays cancelation neccesarily limits this fest from being amazing. They are offering partial refund for passes because of the storm. And the schedule just updated for Saturday to extend Pharrell and Friends to 1.5 hours, so a few of those Friday performers for his set will probs be out for tonights set.
Pharrell rented out the entire portion of the Cavalier for these artists. Locals claim to have spotted Jay Z/Beyonce and Justin Timberlake. If they dont have prior engagements Im sure they would stay the extra night. The only ones who posted saying they wont be able to perform from the "friends" set was Gwen Stefani.
That being said, this was a "transitional year;" here is to hoping it survives the storm and comes back next year with proper planning. What they did in a month is pretty impressive.

I’m excited for the future of this festival. I was worried it would be a disaster, but I’ve been impressed so far. Like you said, this was definitely a transitional year and figuring out how to make this work. It’ll be interesting to see how they move forward. I love that it is on the beach, but I think they have to look into adding another stage. These set times are too short, like Travis is only 30 minutes.
