Watched part of the first part. Need to get into more. It's a complicated issue and there are many fans that refuse to believe anything because of previous trials/investigations. Some I've seen are even more adamant than R. Kelly fans in defense.
I don't know what's true but there's so many that are giving him a pass for all the really inappropriate and sketchy stuff he did because "he had a bad childhood" and was abused in his own ways.
What do you guys think? I know over the years I've gone back and forth on the "he's obviously guilty of some stuff" and " the accusations and proof don't add up" sides.
What’s so very damning is how he went from one boy to another. One would lose favor when another newer younger one came along. That’s lover behavior right there plan and simple.
I don't really see the motivation for anyone to lie about it now that he's dead.
I agree. Whenever I bring that up I get responses about them looking to cash in and make money and how one of them only started accusing after being fired by MJ as a dancer. I think sometimes people just default to "they want fame and money" even though being know as an abuse victim isn't really the good side of Fame.
I dont remember if they mention it in pt 1, maybe it’ll be in pt 2, but he also kept a locked suitcase near his bed which contained: pictures of bondage and a study of naked boys
Forensics found matching fingerprints from some of the boys and mj on the photos.
He also kept fully gagged sculptures of women in the same room he slept with the kids in.
The hallway with the alarm is fucking weird, too. I guess he couldve been scared of being robbed or murdered but cmon... he would practice timed “clothes on drills” with some of these kids too.
The denial by some of these people is a sign of how stan culture is a bigger problem in society and something that should be discussed in a larger forum.

I had the hardest time getting to sleep last night after watching this. Truly disturbing. He basically groomed their entire families to gain access to the boys.
Btw Wade tried, and failed, to sue the estate, after testifying to the contrary while MJ was still alive and settling with other families for ten million dollars.
This motherfucker did it. No doubt in my mind. To even ask at this point is a farce based on his starpower.

I think they don't mention bondage or pictures of young boys. They do talk about graphic heterosexual pornography and how he would show this to the boys he was fucking.
Jackson seemed to hate/distrust women. This is not a focus of the documentary, but it's alluded to. I'm not sure whether he had sexual feelings toward appropriately-aged women, but he was married a couple of times and had children with women.
It's all very confusing to me.
But I've heard people say that child sexual abuse generally isn't about sexuality, that it's about power. Perhaps he was trying to recreate the scenario of his father controlling him. Perhaps it's not within our grasp or not worth our time to try to understand.
I don't know what was going on in his brain, and maybe I'd rather not.
This airs here on Friday night. I hope it’s both parts, but I’m not sure. I plan on spending my Friday night in watching it.
This reminded me of Going Clear, the Scientology doc HBO produced. Have you seen it? Could be a good appetizer.
I’ve seen a few Scientology docs, not sure if that’s one of them. Is it the one where they talk about the fucked it “work camps” that they sent people to? Bc that one was fuckin wild.

The second part is much more devastating for me, namely the last half hour.
Holy fuck.
I still have to watch through the rest of the first part. Anything in particular that stands out as new or shocking that you weren't aware of? There's a number of things that I never knew so far.

Word from Deb Rowe is that she never even had sex with him. I guess the kids they had were artificially inseminated with his sperm so they could have his dna but yeah she told the Santa Barbara PD they never actually hooked up. Much of the Neverland staff was interviewed and never saw women going to and from his rooms or staying the night at the house. That right there is massively suspect. If me or basically any straight dude were the biggest pop star in the world, we're hooking up with all the models who are down to do the consensual.

They tell their families the truth and it is gut wrenching
Oprah does a phenomenal job of playing the dubious interviewer, but in the service of, eliciting the answer from the interviewee that drives home the thesis of the doc.
She also mentions the church a lot, which is good.
