Still deciding on whether or not I'm gonna catch any of Beach House, otherwise I might just get out of the Childish Gambino pit and go into the Phish pit. There's not a whole lot I'm interested in right around then until the Superjam so I might as well.

I’m doing the full show on Sunday and The first hour on Friday before I have to dip out for deafheaven. If it wasn’t for that I’d be doing both nights in full
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
All of it minus maybe the first 30 minutes of Sunday cause I will be at king princess. If I'm not feeling her, then I will be at every second of both days.
I will likely catch a little of both sets. Just because. Plus I’ll be in TO, so no matter if I’m at camp makin’ a sandwich or not I’ll be able to hear them.

5:30 hours of Phish. I'll see Friday's 2 hours from the back, because I'll probably be arriving close to start due to Beach House 10:30-11. For those who keep saying you'll let Friday's Phish show decide whether or not you see them Sunday, that's not really a practical approach. The catalog is massive, and they haven't said whether they're doing any specific themes or types of shows. They incorporate all kinds of different music into their shows, and they can play anything. It's not like they're going to showcase the same shit on Friday and Sunday IMHO or that Friday in any way is going to foreshadow Sunday.

you make a good point. i've been to a lot of multi-show runs at the same venue, and i always think i know what's going to come at say the third show and i'm always wrong. my thinking is usually along the lines of "well show 1 was a rock show, show 2 was spacey and psychedelic, i bet show 3 will be super emotional." then the come out for show three and open with "you sexy thing > tweezer reprise" and play the goofiest silliest show in recent memory.
but on the other hand, to defend the "let friday decide if you'll stick around for sunday" approach: if someone goes to Friday and hates every minute of it, i understand not sticking around for Sunday. even if Sunday is a completely different kind of Phish show, it's still a Phish show. but if friday is at least enjoyable and interesting to a newcomer, i'd encourage them to check out Sunday as well, as hopefully seeing two different shows will give you a fuller picture of what Phish is capable of range-wise.

If someone goes in unknowingly and hates every minute of it, they probably should be spending their festival time at Post Malone, Cardi B, Illenium, Walk the Moon and such. I like my music on a higher plane than that even if/when it might be goofy.
I just saw 6 sets of String Cheese this weekend. There are some similarities there with Phish in that they are another band who can play anything and who moves in and out of multiple genres and still be good at it. For different reasons, some people don't like or don't appreciate extended jams and improvs.
