I am from IL.... alot further south than you though... basically in STL. I am headed down with a buddy of mine, and there may be a couple more jumping on the bandwagon, so not sure of ride status yet.
My husband and I will be coming from Danville, a small town near Champaign. We're pretty much in the land of cornfields out here ;P
It will be my 2nd bonnaroo (first one was in 2004)... and for my husband, it will be his first, AND his first ever AMERICAN music festival (he's french)., and what better way to do it than bonnaroo!!!
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...

Tinley Park? We're practically neighboors! I grew up in Oak Forest.
Looks like we got a nice crew from the south suburbs. Mokena, Tinley Park, Oak Forest, and you can add Frankfort to that list which is where I'm from. I've made the drive from there a few times but unfortunately I'll be coming from Miami this year. Ugh...
i'm from Minonk, currently in Normal at school. Metamora, wow, thats close to me! There's a pretty dope show happening in Metamora on Saturday, it'll be my first time going to the venue...

Nice to see people living in the cornfields of Illinois. I am from the SOY BEAN Capital myself. Left as a lad though. Still love our old home on Lake Decatur, grandparents lived next door until they retired to Depue. Now that is a small town!
Let's here it for Warshington D.C.! Still get grief about the invisible "R" that I add to a couple words. Still got family in Decatur and Peoria. Went to Leal (sp) Elementary in the Chamapin/Urbana area.

oh believe me....it wont be a "venue." it would most likely be a little bar or possible in the square
I'm not sure yet. Either we leave late wed. night and drive through the night to get there by like 10 thursday morning, or we leave earlier and find a cheap place to stay wed. night. But most likely we'll be driving through the night because my friend will probably have to work on wed.
i get off work around 5pm, should be out of Darien, on my way to Tinley at 6ish and try to be on the road around 8 or 9....... get to the Roo in line Thursday morning........
I'm in Belleville. I might be going alone. My fiance doesn't have the vacation and neither one of us can really afford it. I just said F-it and filled out the volunteer app. If I get picked I'm probably going it alone.
It makes me sad that I'll have this experience without him, but at the same time it's sort of thrilling to think of going it alone and meeting new people.
Anyway, I may be a Bellevillian with room for a passenger or two that could use the gas money.
