I don’t really think that young people care about most artists live reputation unless it’s known that their shows are super rowdy (Travis). They see an artist they like on their lineup and go.

Sure, but then fests might as well get Doja Cat as a sub. What makes her headliner worthy at this point?

My point is that promoting an unproven live act to headliner status does damage to both the artist as well as the festival. Fests still have the power to negotiate this with management.

She was lip syncing but I don't know how many people care and it was definitely a headline/arena-level production. Hangout has big HLs and subs so I could see it going either way this time, but she's trending toward headlining pretty soon.
man, ive been saying it for the last 4 years but id love nothing more than a lineup with the bare min to get me back
Agreed. Been saying it since our last trip in 2015. Really want to do Sweetwater 420 but my significant other won't commit to anything until we see how this shakes out.

me and cmack are keeping 420 on the backburner too
Wow, Hangout still has some warm coals going on. We are thinking about a Hangout revival but, having a lot of fun at other concerts and venues. The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival in OBA/Perdido Key was excellent. JJ Grey and Mofro in the Caverns was excellent. Eric Clapton was excellent. Headed to see TTB in Chattanooga next week. No surprise that Drake and Travis Scott incited a riot. Offering to pay funeral expenses....good grief. If, big if, Hangout can contract for a 2010-2015 kind of lineup, I am in. Same old last couple years? Probably not. We are looking at Moon Crush. Love My Morning Jacket's new album. JJ Grey is awesome. Always down for TTB. www.mooncrush.live/ How about those Braves!
2021 Hoodstock Songwriters Festival Perdido Key May, JJ Grey September in the Caverns, Eric Clapton at Gwinnett County Gas South Arena, Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival November, next up TTB in Chattanooga.

I actually really like that Moon Crush lineup. Brandi, MMJ, Zach Bryan, and Natalie Hemby would be worth the price of admission for me alone. Weird setup though.
I wish I was going now have a friend getting married this weekend and already agreed to be a groomsmen. Have been saying NIN would get me to my first one too! Wish hangout would be brave enough to book NIN but definitely don’t see that happening.
