I don't like current debates because it feels more like reality shows and searching for sound bytes or headlines like "CANDIDATE A slam dunks on CANDIDATE B". I wish it was treated more seriously and was focused on policy but whatever. This is where we are.

Lots of memorized statements rather than thoughtful, genuine answers, though this year it feels like we've seen less stories about individuals about Joe the plumber or little Susie Q from Bumfuck, Pennsylvania, at least. More policy, yes, which includes foreign policy. Biden should sue all of his writers and prep staff for malpractice, for not urging him to talk foreign policy as much as possible. The man's a bonafide expert in that arena and has a million times more experience abroad than the rest of the stage combined. His foreign policy chops are what impressed me and had me backing him for President before I'd ever even heard of Obama. Now he just looks...old.
I like how all of the candidates pretty much ignored half of the questions tonight and just pivoted immediately to whatever they wanted to talk about. Maybe the next debate will have moderators that bother to show up, and moderate. Damn I miss Jim Lehrer.
Maybe Bloomie will get bored and do us all a favor and give this up. He could try stand-up comedy. He sure killed it at the end with his joke about a common misconception about him being that he's 6' tall. That's as clever as the now-suspended hack Cleveland sports writer calling 6'1" quarterback Baker Mayfield a "f---ing midget" the other day.
Six minutes in and Warren is just trashing Bernie for no reason whatsoever? "I am going to be the better president because I also support the things Bernie supports.. But I can bring people together boo-hoo"
What?? And now they change subjects? What is this???

This is what I was saying the other day. If she plans to stick this out beyond Super Tuesday her only path is to unite the more moderate/anti-Bernie wing of the party under her and maybe peel off some folks she's lost to him. That's almost certainly not going to happen because Biden will likely win S.C. or at least place high enough where the establishment is forced to unite around him or Bloomberg. Unless she gets some massive reversal of fortune she doesn't have the support of POC to win a majority anyway. Probably not even close. Her only real shot is to go for her "unity candidate" angle at a brokered convention.
It's a primary so attacking him is fair game. She's being disingenuous with some of her attacks but whatever. It's politics.
This is the best shot(really the only shot) we've had in my lifetime for a progressive to win. If she believes in these policies I hope she comes around to realizing she's starting to harm our chances. Like why the fuck do this now? She's not going to magically win South Carolina by attacking Bernie. I wouldn't go so far as to say this hurts him in any huge way but it's another example of her and her advisors bad political instincts. It also really doesn't help with voters that she has to win over. They seemed to know they couldn't take this path earlier in the campaign, not sure why they think it's good now.
Maybe things would be different if Bloomberg wasn't in the race but he's got unlimited funds compared to everyone else. The dude will be spreading propaganda at a level we've never seen in a primary. Mostly in the hopes of stopping the progressives. It would be nice if we could all get on the same page against this shit.

Her argument was that she would be a better president. It was a pretty innocuous “attack.” If you cant handle that you’re going to have a really tough time during the general if Bernie wins.

No, that wasn't what she said lol. She said she'd be a better president because she has the same progressive ideas as Bernie but is less divisive and then she added a lil cherry on top that she got thrown under the bus by Bernie's campaign a while back when it was the other way around.

I randomly found someone's copy of Marianne Williamson's Meditations for a Miraculous Life in my office today, and it put a huge smile on my face. I thought you people would be the only ones that would appreciate this.

Do you seriously consider this to be a severe attack on Bernie? This is so fucking tame.
SEN. ELIZABETH WARREN (D-MA), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: So, look, the way I see this is that Bernie is winning right now because the Democratic Party is a progressive party, and progressive ideas are popular ideas, even if there are a lot of people on this stage who don't want to say so.
(APPLAUSE)
WARREN: You know, but Bernie and I agree on a lot of things, but I think I would make a better president than Bernie. And the reason for that is that getting a progressive agenda enacted is going to be really hard, and it's going to take someone who digs into the details to make it happen.
Bernie and I both wanted to help rein in Wall Street. In 2008, we both got our chance. But I dug in. I fought the big banks. I built the coalitions, and I won.
Bernie and I both want to see universal health care, but Bernie's plan doesn't explain how to get there, doesn't show how we're going to get enough allies into it, and doesn't show enough about how we're going to pay for it.
O'DONNELL: Thank...
WARREN: I dug in. I did the work. And then Bernie's team trashed me for it.
We need a president who is going to dig in, do the hard work, and actually get it done. Progressives have got one shot. And we need to spend it with a leader who will get something done.

The crowd was so bad. A debate crowd should applaud at the beginning of the debate as the candidates come on stage, shut the fuck up during the debate and then applaud when its over.

I think it’s less that she attacked him, and more does she really care about the people, or just being President? If she honestly feels that progressive policies are important, why attack the progressive candidate that has the best chance of winning?
I feel like it’s still early and maybe she’s trying to do right by her supporters? But the longer she keeps dragging it out, the more questionable her motives become.
So glad we've got Pence on it, because he always gets so much done and brings so much energy to the fight.
I bet we'll continue to save money by cutting useless spending on the CDC and NIH and just pray harder. If it weren't an election year they wouldn't even address that Wutang Corona Light virus.
