Ehhhhhhh idk about that one. I do think that the internet should be treated as a utility, but I don't want the federal government controlling it.
The major issue here is that until it's treated as a utility on a legislative level, the companies are using pass federal/state deals to game the system entirely. They are intentionally raising rates and bottlenecking speeds to deal with their loss of cable television revenues (now tied into a lot of the companies now that provide both your TV and Internet). If they weren't gaming a system that we gave them contracts for (please remember that Comcast laid most of the fiber optic wire in the country under a Bush contract) -- and there are tons of under privileged areas without a reasonable solution to internet access. The plan needs to be laid out this big to have any competition with private companies who have had a completely unfair advantage over the consumer.
I totally agree with that aspect of it. I had commented before reading the details of the plan, was concerned that the government itself would be essentially acting as an ISP, therefore potentially enabling them to decide what content can be transmitted. I see now that's not the case.
So there is some fallout or issues with the raids:
A total of 680 people were arrested in Wednesday's raids, but more than 300 had been released by Thursday morning, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Bryan Cox said in an email.
Cox said 30 of those who had been released were let go at the plants, while about 270 were released after being taken to a military hangar where they had been brought after the raids. He did not give a reason except to say that those released at the plants were let go due to "humanitarian factors."
It was obviously a mistake (though probably still sprung from an unconscious association between poverty and Blackness), but goddamn that's a really bad one.
"I've had a great relationship. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking."

Americans love name recognition. Also, the back in the day getting along bullshit he's selling sounds mighty attractive to people who are tired of everyone yelling all the time.

Also - as indicated by my parents, there is a considerable amount of good natured people who don't engage yet; and feel like it's "too soon". I had to remind my mother that while it started early this season, too early imo, it would have started in September anyway... The election season used to boost up a year before the election, before 2016. But anywho: there's a ton of people who just don't know ANYTHING about the other people up in the primary.

People not being invested in politics are either very low on the ladder and don't have the time because they got a million other things to take care of or are priveleged enough not have gotten hit hard enough to care about politics.

How are some people still okay with ANY of this? How does he still have support from people?
The argument that most of these supporters seem to have is that it's the parents's fault for bringing up kids knowing that they're illegal that or they don't show any empathy at all towards immigrants..

I offer you option 3, those high and ascended the ladder through hard work in a better time for that in American livelihoods, with way too much work to do now -- at mostly the end of life/careers of said people. Some business owners; others high level in their positions. Thus privileged by lack of hunger, and unwilling to see they've been also hit repeatedly by this.

I actually told my parents that if I am the victim of a mass shooting and miraculously live to not let Trump visit me unless I was given a prime opportunity to spit on him. I also asked they get 3 stacks to visit me if at all possible
