I probably won’t vote if they nominate someone as in support of the genocide as Biden. I get it might be immature to be a single voter issue in an important election, I just don’t have the stomach to vote for someone I find morally reprehensible, even if the alternative is a monster.
well the alternative called the israeli hostages "our hostages" and has completely indicated he is going completely end gaza but u do u
Thanks for your support. Sincerely, Someone that is in the middle of IVF and needs it to exist in 2025
like I said, I’m being selfish. I can’t stomach having the blood of tens of thousands Palestinian babies on my hands, even if it’s for the good cause of stopping the insane Trump movement. If you can, more power to you.
This is also how states get republican super majorities, and Moms for Liberty take over school boards. Because people like you don't vote at all, instead of just leaving the presidential section blank. You're doing their work for them.

I probably will vote third party, tbd which one and vote down ballot for democrats that I google who haven’t expressed support for genocide

I understand the lesser of two evils argument and voted for Biden in 2020, but you got to draw the line somewhere and stopped voting for evil candidates all together. My line was at around 5k dead Palestinian children.
IVF will exist in 2025. Please don't lose sleep over that
You literally live in a state that is actively trying to get rid of abortion pills and birth control, and which has banned abortions already. When you make these thing inaccessible to women, one of the side effects is the loss of other women's health care. IVF is on the chopping board, open you eyes.
EDIT: Go read Project 2025 and come back with that shit.
You think the Nick Fuentes' of the world want to support Israel any more than a leftist does (albeit for opposite reasons), or like that JD Vance's wife is Hindu? Hell no, but they still support it enough to move the Overton window towards the far right.
Ohh, logic and sense has never stood in their way before.
Blackburn and Hagerty are already pushing that Biden needs to resign now if he isn't running for reelection. Harris would obviously be the person to take the reins. My brain already zoomed ahead to them arguing that Harris couldn't run in 2028 because she already had two terms because running out the end of Biden's term counts.

I fully understand sitting out because of the Dem’s Zionist positions. I plan to vote for Kamala and I really don’t think anything will change that but I’m not gonna pretend like asking someone to actively vote for policies that will kill thousands of Palestinians is not an insane request especially if you’re Muslim or have ties to the region. Not voting actually seems like the only thing that will get certain Dems to back off even a little.
But it’s a double edged sword. Making it easier for an extremely Islamophobic man to regain power isn’t exactly a smart move either.

I think the best case for voting though is three things: abortion, LGBTQ rights, climate change. Kamala might be a little better on other fronts (healthcare, immigration, etc.) but those three are undeniably better under Democratic leadership and it would be very self-centered of me to not vote because the first two don't directly affect me.
If you're thinking about sitting out because of the Dems response to Palestine, I won't harass you or call you names or whatever but I think you really need to consider how the women in your life, your LGBTQ friends, and the next generation will be affected by that decision.
There’s a lot of people out there with garages full of Let’s Go Brandon merch for this year that will now go to waste. Let’s hope they don’t have to pull another mortgage to pay all that back.

I’m hopeful that the Harris campaign will reset on Gaza a little. She can’t credibly claim to have opposed Israel’s campaign all along (and politically probably doesn’t want to) but staking out a position of “Netanyahu has demonstrated over the last six months that you can’t bomb Hamas away and we must move toward peace with a ceasefire and diplomacy” seems like a no brainer and should put a clearer contrast between her and Trump.
Whatever lane she takes we’ll probably have an answer pretty quick with Netanyahu addressing Congress Wednesday.

There is something to be said about Republicans having absolutely no plan for Kamala. They have no big "gotcha", Trump's best nickname is "Laughing Kamala", there is just no angle here. They focused so much on Biden's age and now Trump is the old one. There are some theories that they chose Vance because they felt very confident about their chances against Biden but now they have to appeal to women voters with a very unappealing ticket to that base.
I think the change will give some voters an interesting glimpse at what the Republican Party actually is. This is not a policy-minded party. They run mostly on culture wars and insults. Switching Biden out kind of fucks that up.
Also, we're 9 days removed from the assassination attempt and no one outside of his core base actually gives a shit. The first legit attempt in 40+ years and people just forgot. It really feels like Trump is at the maximum amount of support he's going to reach whereas there are a lot more votes to be picked up for Kamala.

Johnson wants him to step down and have Kamala be president. But that’s somehow not a coup by the definition they are using to cry about the primary season.
There was a lot of talk back in the winter and spring about "whichever side puts up a different candidate other than Trump or Biden is going to win." Makes me wonder if it was the Dems plan all along to pretend like it was going to be Joe until Trump was officially made the GOP candidate and then pull the rug out from under them with Joe stepping down before the Democratic convention.
The conservatives on my facebook are flipping their shit over this and keep posting the hashtag #selectednotelected. I'm like go read project 2025 and tell me that the GOP is still pro-democracy.

Yeah that's giving the Dems way too much credit.
Joe sounded like he really wanted to stay in. I think it's mostly a string of numerous gaffes in a row that really highlighted where he was at which led to all this.
But definitely don't think this was a plan. They weren't playing 4d chess. Everything is reactionary

Which I do not get when the top candidate was 81 years old. Regardless of him stepping down, there's a non-zero chance he is going to die at any given moment. I am not saying put a ton of time or your best people on it, but you would think they'd at least have something sketched out. Same goes for Vance with Trump being 78.

Right, it's a party full of unqualified and unprepared people who have nothing to offer outside of the spectacle of Trump. I think the Dems are incompetent 90% of the time but the GOP is absolutely lost without Trump. I think that if he loses, he's still their 2028 nominee.
