He definitely felt like a classic 'here for the photo op' guy while on the job in Texas and running for president, but he's managed to keep a pretty low profile since finding out the entirety of his job description. I know he's done some 'pro oil/gas' things while he's been in office, but it's nothing compared to the kind of shit Pruitt was doing. and he's avoided the spotlight of 'dumbest in the room', a niche that the resident (npi) Doctor is currently occupying.
I've never felt that Perry was evil the way I feel about Abbott, where everything about him just makes me squirm. Perry is just an encapsulation of all the lame parts of Texas, but he always felt somewhat genuine in his approach at it.

Yes it's painful knowing that Perry is the least evil and most intelligent of what's left on a scientific variation mapping.
We were going to sell them weapons no matter what.
That's not a reason to give the seller a pass
I inherently am putting this to not giving him a pass, but politically and intellectually as a politician, ducking his head is just normal cowardice unlike the sense of pure hatred we feel off most of the Cabinet and his administration. Rick Perry is no winner, literally, can't win shit without being given 2nd base, but the point really is Rick Perry is the most sane person in this administration?!?

I can't stand McCain. She's joined the list of people that I just can't watch speak on camera anymore. Her, Trump, Kellyanne Conway. I'm sure there's a few more. They just sicken me.

McCain is a special kind of awful. But it is pretty entertaining watching all her breakdowns and inability to not talk about anything without invoking her dad.
Ohh, and I guess the House meeting didn't stick. The Dems' official channel is now attacking an AOC staff member on Twitter. It's pretty cringe.
BTW, they are almost certainly lying about not knowing who that is. It's also hilarious that the tweet they picked is two weeks old. Hate it when I'm shocked by a two week old tweet and blurt out a take on the official account of the House Democrats.
C ough Cough... Class-ism intertwined with racism and selective grouping is the root problem and not a faux-PC culture that is only seeking to further our way of seeing reality. Sigh...

I've been of the belief that the PC culture stuff and the culture wars in general is an intentional distraction - to keep people focused off the class warfare in progress
Not to say some of the PC/culture war stuff isn't important. But I think we get too fixated on it, when the class warfare is a bigger crisis to us all.

Some of my co-workers and family are more upset about "pc culture" than kids in cages.
"Everyone's so sensitive nowadays" meanwhile you used to have to duel for your family honor if you said the wrong thing about a person and it used to be shocking to hear the word "damn" or "hell" on TV or Radio. But yeah.....because you can't comfortably tell a racist joke in public then the world is more sensitive than ever.

These are also the people highly offended when certain rap songs come on; the people who say shit and use the Lord's name in vain constantly but are angered if a liberal curses as if it's made for them and not others; those who are concerned with private industries making choices while they are having their resources publicly stolen from them with near zero taxes for these larger companies. It's as if they haven't researched anything beyond their own feelings of rage.

The solution I employ when people start talking about everything being too PC is to ask for an example.
gotta love feelin the need to include the socialism remark
I was apoplectic when I read this this morning. I probably didn't need to lose it so much, but in doing something right he can't help but do like 3 things wrong.
The smug nature of these officers tells you more than just the narrative provided. It shows you they see these people as collateral evil events and "doing their jobs" is protecting their structure of power. It IS white authoritarian power personified.
*also ALL enforcement agencies are required by the 4th amendment to identify themselves. They probably released him because they had broken the law and it would a poison fruit argument in court not worth just arresting him again later.

Those pieces of shit. Saying they aren't legally required to give their names while breaking the law to enter and stay in the home. I hate those disgusting people. They are just power tripping losers.

You have described a large part of ICE and the police departments of America in a lot of places.
power trippin' is real, and the reason you can watch Brooklyn 99 and the Wire is essentially still one of the most relevant shows in history.
