Then it comes out the woman was just ordering them drinks and wanted to make sure what Jay wanted and it wasn't a thing at all but the internet turned it into a whole big deal. Now she's got anxiety and death threats for being a nice host

Yeah it's a toxic world. If you take 50 photos a minute of anyone you'll get photos where they look pissed just because an eyebrow drooped for a second. It's insane.

That would be quite shocking. Plus, he is trying to get reelected. If he is thinking or pretending he is going to get reelected he would have to pretend like it's all status quo and have someone in that position, right?
They have already reduced the role drastically it just seems like nothing good can come of it. I doubt there's a shortage of people willing to sell their souls and image but it just probably isn't a priority for the admin.

It's got positives and negatives. Positive is she can easily stand out and be the star of that debate. Negative is will people tune in to that one? Or just the one with the heavy hitters?
Hopefully Warren does well and gets lots of good sound bytes for the folks who won't pay any attention.

I'm curious why they set it up the way they did. Was it randomized? Are they trying to obscure Warren or pump her up?
I don't even think it makes sense to have twenty candidates, anyway, really. Like, some of the thresholds to qualify should probably be higher. Idk. Having each candidate answer essentially two questions when a lot (most) of them are nearly indistinguishable from each other in their platforms is kinda just a waste of time.
