If it was that important they wouldn't have forced a senile sex pest on us.
Embrace the fucking doom. It's coming regardless of which peice of shit wins.
Understood. But maybe approaching doom gets slowed down from speed of light at least to the speed of sound. Biden isn't progressive, but the times will force him to embrace some changes maybe he wouldn't have been comfortable with before. Whoever is president wouldn't ordinarily affect my life. This time, the botched, inept COVID-19 response is responsible for over 130,000 dead, mostly innocent people. That shit has to go. So does their ability to stack the federal judiciary with shitty frat-boy right-wingers.
The biggest difference is that you'll get 0% of what you want out of the current GOP. At least with the Biden, you're going to get some, even if some of that is so-called window dressing. I wasn't super happy with all that came out of the Biden-Sanders unity agreement, because Biden is kicking several proverbial cans down the road. But it's certainly a start for a new path if whoever follows Biden happens to be or is wiling to embrace the left. Here's the text of the report. It's 110 pages, and I only skimmed it yesterday. But it's immediately a better place than where we are now.
I don't care. It doesn't matter. There's zero reason to believe it. We already went through this shit with Obama. Biden is much worse than him. On and on and on.
Also, not all of the Covid failure can be blamed on him. Get real. This country failed because it's a fucking nightmare land, decaying empire. That's much bigger than Trump.
Regardless. I'll be risking my life and health for an otherwise meaningless vote for Bernie on Saturday. I made him and myself that promise. And I intend to keep it.

That's great. I don't blame you for voting for Biden.
It's just not really going to matter in the long term.
I don't know what I'm going to do in November. We're not currently a swing state. I changed my registration to Democrat to vote Sanders in our closed presidential primary system. But the election got rescheduled from April. For sure I'll take Biden over Trump a billion times out of a billion. But I'll have to look at who all the candidates are on the Louisiana ballot, and then I'll make a decision. Maybe Deez will pay the $200.
The idea that the times will force Biden to change is simply nonsensical to me. He won't even lie about doing M4A in the middle of a pandemic. I don't know how someone can watch that video with Ady Barkan and not think that he is a deeply cruel and sadistic man himself, and that the Democratic Party and its leaders edited it that way and put it out for us all basically says to me, and I think this is deliberate, "you deserve nothing, and you will never get anything. If you have a debilitating illness, just fucking die already".
It's always the most important election ever, there will always be another big scary bad guy around the corner to point to and say "We can't do anything about your material conditions right now", it's a never-ending cycle of shit, dehumanize yourself and face to bloodshed

Okay but you can’t seriously act like this election isn’t especially important. If Trump wins again I genuinely worry there will not be a USA by the end of it
I kind of feel like Biden is too senile to actually be president and there's some third party person out there that will actually be pulling the strings.
As scary as it sounds. I'd vote for mysterious third party person before Cheeto. I think.

When the street talks as loudly as it is, he will have no choice. Bernie’s influence is now in the mix, so we are getting something besides getting shit on by racist assholes.

By what mechanism will Donald Trump, the dumbest person on the planet, destroy the United States of America?
He has arguably done less human damage than your average republican because he is too much of a coward to start a war

How does everyone envision the next 24 or so years going? Like....I'm voting for biden but I also sometimes lean towards the way of "it doesn't matter" and "we're fucked either way". Like...is there any hope for a future where this country gets its act together? What can realistically be accomplished and how? I've been so down about so much lately.

It's possible to have hope for a future, you just have to studiously not read anything about the climate, ever

I’d say Trump has been insanely effective because everything he does is an executive order. Biden sucks but he won’t essentially get rid of the EPA

Deregulation and overt attacks on the EPA are bog-standard Republican policy. See the Reagan and W administrations. How does this make Trump uniquely dangerous?

How about blatantly getting away with multiple crimes and openly admitting to cheating in elections? How about being the figurehead of it being entirely okay to be racist? How about deflecting all responsibility when a global pandemic strikes and only taking credit for the measly $1200 check the federal gov sent out (not even him)? How about openly mocking a disabled reporter? How about hiding in a bunker when the nation was burning down? Should I go on?

All this stuff basically amounts to complaining that he is impolite, brash, and stupid; which, frankly, is the only reason opposition to him has been so powerfully mobilized. You should be grateful he's not more quiet about it.
He has attacked our system of government more than any selfish, partisan hack ever could get away with
Bush and the neocons opened the flood gates for all this. It's been in the making for decades at this point. The liberals didn't stop it and even went along with it at times.
I mean study the Iraq War a little bit and get back to me on what partisan hacks can get away with.
The GOP wants all this and more. They've just got a little bit better bedside manner about them.

I’ll probably be roasting by then, but maybe they’ll play Motörhead on Saturdays.
