Then we are all fucked, because wone guy looks psychotic, making every answer about migrants from mental institutions and prisons raping women, and the other guy losing his place and freezing up. If anyone really needs this debate to make a distinction between the two, they probably shouldn't be voting anyway, but this is a shit show that probably won't sway anyone.
i think your seriously doubting how stupid moderates are
eh, i was on that train for a while but if we can survive one trump term i think we can survive another
I think that's where I'm at. Also moving to a new country is difficult unless you are retired since it's very hard for an American to get a work visa in Europe or Canada for example.

I think the cause of concern is that if Trump gets in and Repubs take back the senate then it will literally be the end of our democracy. Like no doubt.
Biden was old. Trump was a liar and has no understanding or regard for the truth or the law. He doesn’t care because he doesn’t have to. Maga gonna moron, that’s what they are. I don’t really care that Biden is old. He’s been a relatively good president. But they’re going to have to decide if they’re going to try to salvage a run for a second term or step aside and broker some kind of deal at the convention. I think VP Harris is capable, but I don’t know if she could win a general. Too bad Michelle doesn’t want to be President because she’d probably smoke anyone.

Honestly at this point I think Harris has a better chance to beat Trump than Biden does. At least she can effectively communicate on abortion rights which is the best issue we have against Trump. Biden totally botched that answer last night and he's never comfortable talking about abortion.

I mean, say whatever you want but that debate is not the Biden we've seen in stump speeches, the state of the union, or elsewhere. If you think it was, you're either not being honest or haven't watched him speak elsewhere. That was really bad in a different way.
The campaign put out this clip of him speaking after the debate, at 11pm -- this is the standard Biden. He's old, yeah, but he's got more energy and focus. It makes me think that having no audience really hurt him; he does best when playing against a crowd and riffing off the cuff, it energizes him. I had figured no audience would hurt Trump more, but now I think the opposite was true.
When the convention rolls around we're going to see a flip back to "oh wait, he's fine, look how much energy he has." And none of it, including this debate, will really matter.
I'm a little surprised John Kasich hasn't run as an independent. I voted against him in multiple Ohio governor's races but he actually showed some backbone and stood up to Don and the GOP's right crazy turn.
I don't know if I could ever support him after some of the things he did here, but a coherent, moderate candidate could look pretty enticing right now.

The fact that John Kasich is a "moderate" shows how far off the deep end we've gone

We will see what the post debate polls say next week but I think this was an unmitigated disaster for Biden. You don't get many chances to change the narrative in a campaign and this debate was it. Biden just reinforced the narrative that he's too old and not up for another four years. I think he's been a very good President, but beating Trump is the most important thing and if Biden cant do that (and I have serious doubts about that now) we need to move on and run someone else.
I’m loving the new conspiracies floating around that last night was all a deep state plot to replace Biden. It explains the early debate, etc.
Love this stupid country.
Now I'm confused, because the MAGA types I'm forcibly subjected to say the deep state is headed by Sleepy Joe and Crooked Hillary and they're all trying to steal the election for him. Or maybe that's what the shadow government wants us to believe?
This sucks, I'm done thinking and I quit. Give me a tax cut that won't help me much, let me run my trucks on coal I dug up at a local playground, take control of the females in my family, dump my used car batteries in the ocean where they belong, and pretend the world is simple.

I know I just called him a moderate, but I agree and should have put that in quotes or something, because now I feel icky. But that's where we are - much of the GOP has gone so crazy that traditional conservatives are considered centrists and are somewhat palatable to moderate democrats, relatively speaking.
Anyone feek like talking me off the cliff, or we just going full doom n' gloom
Oh, I'm in full doom and gloom mode after last night. You can stay on the edge if you want, but I'm not jumping just yet.
America and the world survived 4 years of Trump already, so we can get through 4 more. He'll probably become disinterested with doing anything too impactful before long anyway, and maybe there will be enough backlash that he'll complete the impeachment hat trick and get sent packing in a couple years, or succumb to the diabetes or heart disease he likely has. I wouldn't even rule out the possibility of some sort of coup if he actually does muster enough attention to really go off the rails.
