at this point i do have to wonder what the DNC’s strategy is here. i get wanting to block Bernie because he was directly against their imterests but as it stands right now they are about to lose a ton of power and status. and thats what they seem to care about most
It's wild that Biden is too selfish to not run now but wasn't too selfish to run in 2016 (which would have prevented Hillary/Trump and he'd be term limited at 82 years old assuming he won 2020 as an incumbent).
scotus' insanely bad long term decision just gave the dems in the short term a mega lifejacket. bad decisions are going to occur due to all these fucked up incentives

I doubt it. Biden and his admin are not about to start breaking the law and doing whatever they should be doing. They're going to maintain status quo, keep telling us things will be okay as long as we vote blue in the upcoming election, and then act surprised when shit doesn't work
I agree but I have very little faith they will even make any real attempt or effort at doing this. I have even less faith that they would pull it off successfully.
I fully think Dems will just keep trying to not rock the boat that much and keep trying to work in the decaying system that is set up.
I read a tweet the other day that summed up how I feel sometimes with all this republican/democrat bullshit:
Pack the courts, you cowards. It's so blatantly obvious that otherwise these ghouls will keep making decisions only for the right wing and billionaires

Thats not what I meant, I think there will be real amounts of ppl who change their votes when considering the fact that Trump will have essentially 100% power if elected
Research may be fuzzy but I think the last time one party controlled all 3 branches of government was the Dems when FDR was president. Republicans are very well set up to take all 3 in November. Trump is not the person you want in charge with all that power.

I think anyone on the fence about trump will vote for him once they are in the booth alone with nobody watching them

I think this is too optimistic, but I'm somewhat hopeful that at least it might get dem-leaning folks inclined to sit it out to get off the sidelines. Dems need to do a better job of convincing the left that the supreme court matters as much if not more than anything.

Obama had a trifecta.
Democrats have had the minority in the Supreme Court since the 1970s.
It's much harder for US citizens to get work permits than a majority of citzens of other countries.
Which is great foresight on their part. They saw the American experiment ending and realized how much immigration would occur if they didn't take proactive measures to shut us out
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Honest question, how is this a lifejacket? It seems to me that people are more likely to vote based on what's in their bank account and whether they owed taxes or got a refund last year, than they are anything that happens in "the news" (which most of them avoid because it's too sad to handle)

Well, shit
What good options do I got then?
New Zealand. They'll basically pay you to live there if you start a farm of sorts but it'd be middle of nowhere South Island.
That's starting to change unless you are a digital nomad and I think they will cut back on those visas since so many people have moved there on those and it's driving up the rents and housing prices for locals.
