Jealous of all you folks down there this year. Will definitely be down there next year once I’m settled into the new job. Looks amazing and I’m not tied to vacations a year ahead of time anymore.
The first thing I heard after arriving last night was Prospa dropping a DnB track with a “Stay Fly” sample over top. Absolutely glorious.
My top 5: 1. Three 6 Mafia, what a bonkers show. 2. Prospa 3. Channel Tres 4. AceMoma 5. Robert Hood Honorable mention: slowthai. Went in cold and was blown away. A truly skilled MC.
Also want to add what a cringefest Zhu is. I don’t get the appeal. Wish I was not held hostage in Mainframe for the entirety of it.

Honestly that time slot was too good. Everyone was killer there and I feel like I could have had a few top five shows there if I could stay for the whole set

How bonkers? Who run it, I’m so high, chickenhead? Who all was there with them? I figure Paul, Boo, Juicy, Project Pat and La Chat. Maybe they brought Wyte?

Was just Juicy, Paul, and Rell but any more and the set would have felt rushed.

There were more as well but those were the hits played. Missing was Chickenhead, Weak Ass Bitch and any of the horror / 90s stuff. It was really fucking fun. Would be nice if they traveled with the wider squad.
Was basically everything I wanted it to be though. Had a hell of a time

Greatness.
I only saw Juicy once (in Texas), but he’s pretty great live.

I think a lot of criticism can be thrown at III Points while also praising what they accomplished.
The music selection was top notch and that's considering this line up went through so many changed from the original precovid lineup. They managed to keep true to the festival with so many drops along the way. This was their most attended festival and despite a lot of criticism, they will continue to grow and maintain this level of attention.
While growing is great, they will have to take a hard look at how they make the festival less of a shit show in the coming years. Either they oversold or they underestimated the flow of the festival. If maintaining this level of event required shady ethics about overpriced water, no water stations, snuck costs at the bars, not giving the bartenders tips, not building stages and not informing the fans, cutting local artists last minute, and many other things including capacity, then idk if I'm interested.
I had an awesome time and will remember Jaime's set as my favorite of all time, but these things had to be said.
I didn’t think it felt oversold. I think there were definitely programming issues that made for crowded stages (ZHU and Kaytranada should have been on MM and Peggy should have been on RC) and box office / entrance could be way bigger. It felt like a sold out festival but not an oversold past capacity festival.

If mind melt would have one more artist playing after midnight, it would have been a better distribution. After 1am, there's no reason to be in the east side of the festival, everyone had no choice but to migrate west.

Headliners will never agree to not close a stage though so it’s not possible

Julie I know it's early but do you know if they plan on switching back to February or keep rolling with October again
October. February sucks for booking
But doesn't the October weather suck more? They lost a lot of attendee goodwill by opening on Friday so late and being incommunicado about basically everything related to entry.
There were a few pain points for sure that have been mentioned a lot but as Dan said, the music was great and that’s what I was there for. I had a blast and can’t imagine they won’t take the things people say into consideration next year.

February weather is way better but coachella blocks everything
