I have no real power here. If people want to go off and run their own Infinity Draft they can. If people want to do a Coachella Draft they can.
As a courtesy, Fred and Bing asked if I had a problem with them launching this draft in conjunction with Coachella season. I think that's a fun idea. I enjoy these drafts a whole lot but I'm fine with taking a little break from moderating one for a month or two.
I am sorry for those of you that were raring to go on the next ID, especially for those who missed the cut on the Coachella one. I'm not sure how firm they are with the number of drafters maybe there's a reason that it needs to be sixteen or whatever it is. If someone is super upset I'm willing to cede my spot.
I did not mean to mislead anyone with the timing of the next ID. I was willing to launch in a few days because I thought that people were itching to have something to do. When they reached out last night with this new idea I was supportive (I still am, FWIW) and I assumed y'all would be, too.
Let's go into this with an open mind and our enthusiastic support. If it's not your thing, know that I am willing to launch ID3 24hrs after their draft ends if people are still interested in doing it. If you can't wait and need to start your own competing infinity draft, I can't stop you. I hope that you don't, though.
Following with this note, I really would like you all to try this new game.
I know some of you (including myself - I already made some strategies/plans) are really excited for Infinity, but it's not going anywhere.
And we will be done with this game very quickly as most of us are at home now.
I also would like to add that some of us were all going to be at Coachella in the next couple of weeks, and now we can't and it sucks. I really thought this would be a fun & quick game we'd do in the next few weeks (along with Couchella and all) instead before we get real with Infinity. There are no other hidden agenda beyond that.
I would like a short break in being accountable to 19 people on the internet. A few weeks at least.I'm not rolling out ID3 for a bit so let's take that off the table.
We are now arguing over:
1) Do a Coachella Draft 2) Someone else running an infinity draft 3) Waiting a while for me to do ID3 4) No drafts at all
(Also, pancakes vs waffles and cleavage vs side boob vs under boob, but those topics are evergreen.)

I think if cdev wants a break, Coachella draft is a great call to free up his time for a bit, plus the Coachella draft designers are raring to go. I'm excited too!

im sure this will be plenty of fun, but no matter how un-nefarious your intentions were, this was handled in a very shitty way. even if you didn't want this to feel forced on us, it was. it should have been suggested, and then handled by poll.
but hey, i guess i should of been satisfied with the "no need for a poll" answer and just shut the fuck up

I hear you. Really didn't want it to come across that way. My wording when I first posted the idea was probably off and I couldn't properly communicate my intentions. That's all I can say at this point.
Regardless, neither myself or Bing deserved the aggressive attitude from you or Tranter.
Okay, that's just silly. There's no huge upgrade from underboob to cleavage even if you erroneously rank cleavage above underboob. That gap is ridiculous.

also question on bracket voting: are we doing it like we do AOTY where everyone posts their votes? If so, I don't think that's a good idea to make votes public and it may get confusing if people switch their votes during. maybe there's a way you could poll it.
