I think it was more she wasn't ready to play a new show during Lolla
This^
and Lolla wants Billie on the new album show. Shes not just going to play new music that nobody knows all set.
Kendrick did that in 2017. DAMN came out the Friday of Weekend 1 Coachella. It wouldve leaked a couple days early and theres going to be 3 more “singles” released between now and then so it likely wouldnt have mattered as much as you think when artists put up half their album before hand.

As someone who was at that Kendrick set, the energy definitely got sucked out of the crowd to a fair degree when he played the new stuff (minus "Humble"). I still enjoyed the set, but seeing him later in the tour was a much more consistent experience -- and I can see why an artist wouldn't want to do a sort of one off "bridge" set with a heavier tilt towards old songs as a one off before going into a whole new production.
Saturday probably has the best undercard but if I were to go it'd probably be Sunday. Fortunately, every day sucks enough in its own way to easily allow me to avoid the temptation.

really impressive how bad the rest of the Tyler day is.

This. Of course the day that I am already committed to due to headliner (that I don’t even want to see) is the day that literally no one else I’m interested in is playing. Maybe White Reaper and Mick Jenkins. Is there anything else there that I should check out on Friday?
Definitely going for a Saturday ticket too. That’s actually a really awesome day that I could have a lot of fun at.

What's pretty funny and not something I assume people on here cares about is they also completely fucked the Perry's people. Steve Aoki, Jauz (?), Slander, and Alison Wonderland feels like a massive miss for that crowd, lol

It's probably as good as they could do with the huge amount of EDM fests happening at the same time; Marshmello and Illenium as headliners probably helps too.

what do the Perry's people usually like? Those seem like adequately popular edm names to me, even if a bit dated

The only thing I've ever seen Perry's people not like is a Gesaffelstein DJ set.
Based off this, is it going to be Young thug into Brockhampton into Da Baby, or is it too hard to tell just based off the lineup?
Stage wise, my personal guess would be Brittany Howard/Brockhampton/DaBaby on north and Young Thug/Modest Mouse/Foos on south just because Young Thug is a lot more popular than Brittany Howard. But timing wise, yeah, those three are probably going to play in that order and not overlap with each other.
