I don't want to be "that guy" but damn if only white actors also had the same consequences
I have to believe that if Josh Broken was found guilty of assaulting a woman in public decade or however long ago then Marvel would also cut ties with him.
I do think it's insane that Ezra was so defended and protected by DC though. I know he's not just straight up white but it's still wild how they stood by him after how much was publicly available

And this:
maybe Google "Josh Brolin domestic violence"
I will do that as I'm apparently clueless but before searching myself was any domestic violence stuff happening at the time of filming/production? Or is it from earlier/pre-marvel??
Not that it should really matter but it definitely does to the studio heads. But if he was on trial and found guilty of stuff while filming as Thanos then yeah, that's a double standard.

Either way, fuck them both for their shit
Damn, so he had a domestic incident in 2004 that they decided to not press charges or take further but sounds like something went down. Then a drunken fight or whatever a few years later. THEN they cast him as Thanos.
It's fucked up. Still slightly different than the scenario here because of timing but I still am surprised i didn't really know this. I admit to not knowing much about Brolin besides No Country, Goonies, MIB 3 and maybe a few other random things. So had no clue.
But I guess at that time they thought "Well we hired Robert Downey Jr. who has a history and it turned out great! Still, there's a lot of double standards in the industry. I legit am shocked they held on to him (Majors) this long

Not that surprising you hadn't heard of it, these things didn't have nearly the same impact back then and most of it just didn't stick. Definitely not a 1:1 with Brolin given the time period, but felt like it was worth pointing out.

Yah he was a washed up actor when it happened so it didn’t gain as much traction - he had his “comeback” in Milk & True Grit a couple years later and no one gave a shit.
I can think of so much bad behavior that happened in the '90s and early aughts that actors never saw repercussions for. Mel Gibson, Russell Crowe come to mind. Oh fuck Naomi Campbell also threw a phone at someone. Terrible! I wish all of these people would have repercussions for their bad behavior. Ezra Miller is the most surprising to me for having not been cancelled.

Was thinking about this topic too today since I just watched the George Santos interview I just reposted on the politics thread and him and the interviewer brought up the point that despite his gross politics, he is super popular with genZ progressives (like me). I wouldnt say I like him but I do like to watch him. Which is how I feel about Ezra Miller too. idk maybe they just have pretty privilege compared to people like Mel, Russel, Tom Cruz and Mark Wahlberg which are all people I think are super gross and actually avoid most of there content.

I think Warner Brothers tried to give them a redemption arc and audiences weren't buying it. I doubt we'll see them in any big movies ever again.

My girl worked on some movie a few years ago with Russell Crowe. She was his 4th PA, bc he ran off there others and he never learned her name. Called her green haired girl.
She said he was nice but demanding, but not even learning your personal PA's name is kinda fucked up in it's own right.
