It's heartening to know that beauty queens dodging important political questions with flippancy and vague patriotism is not solely an American phenomenon.

Difference is Chopra is a UNICEF ambassador... time will tell if that remains true. 🤷🏻♀️
From what I've read so far the issue seems to not be so much Crews being cancelled as that he's shitty at tweeting. I think he's going for a 'bring everybody together towards a common goal and let's not alienate any potential allies' vibe and failing pretty miserably. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

Terry has been putting his foot in his mouth for a little while now its not just one thing but a combination of things. Throwing Gabrielle Union under the bus when she complained about racism at America's got talent rubbed some people the wrong way and him tweeting about how we shouldn't strive for "black supremacy" or try to get more rights than white people (which no one protesting is even asking for or demanding) on top of some other hot takes about race and parenting (saying that a kid can't properly be raised by two men without a mom) has had people taking a more critical eye to his public statements.
The guy seems like a genuinely good dude and father and I still love his work but he's definitely been stepping into it on Twitter a lot

I definitely get uncomfortable with Louis CK. I know he didn't go to the lengths of Weinstein and the like but when you read (from the perspective) of the multiple women who had issues with him and how it effected their careers it's just hard to sweep it under the rug. That and it's hard to watch some of his old comedy and shows knowing what he did. I'm disappointed that Chappelle has backed him and that he was at that show they did (but didn't perform) but there's Not much I can do about that. Chappelle's comments in one of his specials about what ck did not being something you'd call the police for is missing the point. Much like some of Louis's alleged act he's done since being "cancelled".
I guess my main thing is....how an you listen to the multiple women (if you actually listen/read) and still decide "eh what he did isn't that big of a deal".

My biggest issue with CK (aside from the initial abuse, obviously) is that given his stature in the business and the comparatively less awful nature of his actions, I feel like there was a path for him to return to grace to some extent. He could have done some real soul-searching, grown from it, and come out the other side with humility and forward-thinking comedy and commentary. A lot of people probably would have been willing to move on. But instead he just became yet another male comedian complaining about political correctness.
Even in Aziz s return special I felt like his opening apology and comment on his growth was miles better than a lot of people's, and his issue was among some of the tamer ones from what I've seen.

What Aziz said amounted to "I've been doing a lot of thinking" what did you find so special about it

idk in the special it just came across as sincere and he didn't try to deflect his actions or blame it on anything but himself.
from what i recall, he was just aggressively suggestive/implicative and it didn't get into assault territory. him admitting that he needed to evaluate his attitude towards women and reevaluate his past interactions, and feeling regret that he ever made anyone feel scared, was something. and certainly more than louis has done from what ive seen.
