No one should ever get a pass for hitting their kids.
Open hand slapping the face of a two year old. Like...it's not even like he's talking about giving his 14 year old a little smack on the back of their head for a smartass comment or some shit. SLapping a two year old for bumping into the sable is wild. And claiming that they came up with this parenting style from the wife observing mama tiger's give a little corrective slap to her baby or some shit. Like...that's insane.
He's insufferable any time he talks in public now lol
"Dominant Men"...like Hugh Grant? What a weird example to cite given that Grant made his career out of playing romantic leads who were a bit poncey.
EDITED TO ADD: That said, the idea of this being any kind of story is stupid. "Jerry Seinfeld calls for the return of dominant masculinity"...he called for it? Really? Like, socially influential icon Jerry Seinfeld, whom many in the general walk of life seek to emulate, issued a decree in an effort to launch a social movement? Or, "Old comedian spouts off some nonsense on a podcast we should all ignore as we get back to our dailly lives?"

They also used part of the podcast for Israeli propaganda but that's from a different section.
But yeah, it sounds like tmz generating a headline out of a small blip in the podcast discussion. Still the bit about how he misses a "hierarchy" and stuff just comes off as old man yells at cloud shit.
It does seem with all his cancel culture and PC police nonsense he's been preparing himself for when the youth really starts to go after him for dating that teenager he picked up from high school years ago. Like he seems way too defensive for a guy who had stand up about pop tarts and airline food and really didn't curse or say offensive things in the act

I mean, there's also the the fact that young people don't find him funny and he's clinging to any shred of relevance. And catering to pissed off boomers makes money.
He's just saying he prefers the version of masculinity that existed when he was younger, for better or for worse. And if you watch the clip, it's just a clickbait headline. He barely even acts interested in the topic or feels strongly about it.
Honestly, when we are 70 years old (I can't believe he's 70, Jesus), there will be some version of current culture or the culture of our youth that we will be nostalgic about that will be viewed as inappropriate by future standards.
I'm kind of over expecting everyone to have the same opinions as me all the time.

No, I'm sorry, he has CALLED FOR it. It says so right in the headline. The Jerrevolution is beginning even as we speak.

I think the goal here is when you’re a rich old man and young people do things you don’t like, just stfu about it and be okay with it. Bitching about this kids is his brand now and even if it’s not a huge deal it’s still obnoxious

we need to respect Jerry Seinfield's opinion that it's okay to date children.

Famous men dating and sleeping with children has been the norm since forever and has not stopped

and we should respect that they may have a different views on “consent” or “age” or what it means to be masculine. Thank you for speaking up against the echo chamber.

Not being shocked by his appreciation for old school masculinity is very different than being okay with him dating a 17 year old. Despite it being legal, it was fucking weird.

I saw that Hugh Grant thing before and thought it was a joke.
"He knows how to dress. He knows how to talk. He's charming. He has stories. He's comfortable at dinner parties, and knows how to get a drink. You know what I mean? That stuff."
Literally nothing has happened to any of these traits. I would argue that a larger percentage of men dress well today than when Seinfeld was a kid. Not sure what he means by "knows how to talk" but it implies emotional intelligence and a level of education. Again, higher education levels and modernization means this trait is at least at the same level. Barring some setbacks from modern isolation in late-stage capitalism or whatever he thinks this means. People are just as social and charming as they've ever been. It just manifests itself differently with the net and the widespread use of media to communicate.
As has been said, this is old man yells at cloud shit. What he doesn't like is the change in culture. Let's be honest. What he doesn't like is progressive cultural changes that make him uncomfortable. Also a hint at anti-trans thoughts and possible just LGBT issues in general. He is talking to fucking Beri Weiss who has clear affiliation with TERFS and other anti-trans folks.
