It's the way they describe it that dries out my vag.
Taggart said those encounters were never “with a diehard fan” because they weren’t “wearing merch or anything”.
ALSO GROSS:
Last December, John Mayer also appeared on Call Her Daddy podcast, telling host Alex Cooper that he sometimes engages in “a little naked guitar playing after [sex]”.
My guess is the idea is that there is a power dynamic between artists and fans that makes any sexual encounter between them, even if it's ostensibly consensual, potentially problematic.
I'm not saying I necessarily subscribe to this POV, but I think that's the argument that would be made.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Stupid question of the day. If they can’t sleep with consenting fans because of the power dynamic. And it’s not a good idea to sleep with other members of the band either. Does that just leave super models? Explains so much.

It's complicated. I think it's often lumped in with other factors when folks take this kind of thing into account, as I've never heard it leveled as the sole definition of a problematic artist/fan sexual power dynamic. Typically, there's also an age difference at play. But if you look at the story around Win Butler, some of what was said - not all, but some - about the ick factor was that the women consented, but only because they felt they couldn't say no because of who he was.
Consent has become a very multi-faceted discussion, and when this stuff is talked about, it's often no longer just about whether verbal consent was given, but also whether the person making the claim felt they had the power to say no if they wanted to. It's a sticky wicket.

Andrew Callaghan, not gonna post the link here, SA
fuck man
tired of seemingly good people being shitty in reality
How good WAS he though?
There's a lot of "truth tellers" out there who are "sticking it to the man" but are white dudes pointing out / giving platforms to hateful people. It's a lot easier than like mobilizing and supporting marginalized people, because it will still center HIM and he doesn't have to do anything beyond what he wants to do. There are two types of famous journalists, the front facing kind and the behind the scenes kind. Both usually love the smell of their own shit, but the front facing ones (except for Christiane Amanpour I hope) looooooooooove the smell of their own shit.
Not for nothing, he's a 25 year old guy from Seattle who's brilliant with a ton of fame and power. He only had a fully formed brain last year. Powerful kids do bad shit to themselves or others or both. It how it be.

you ever watch any channel 5? not saying you have to or anything, but i don't see andrew callaghan as a truth teller or speaking truth to power or anything like that. he mostly goes to wild conventions or other gatherings full of weirdoes and films it. q conventions, daytona bike week, sneaker con/wedding con, a phish lot, stuff like that. more than anything it's just fun and funny, i guess technically he's a journalist because he is documenting events but it ain't exactly Spotlight. he's also not a both sidester really, when his coverage is political he spends way more time putting a camera on crazy right wingers then he does lefties.
"this place rules" is the only thing of his that did have a message of sorts, and that message is that the events of january 6 were mostly driven by grifters or less outwardly malicious actors vying for your money or attention, with the Proud Boys and Infowars clearly being the primary villains. which isn't a real profound observation.
i'm not commenting on the allegations, just want to clarify who andrew is and what he does. he's not a joe rogan type espousing any specific views if that makes sense, he just shows up in places with weirdoes and puts a camera in their face.

lol you better cancel every famous person ever then

Rule of thumb: if someone perceives you to be better than them in any way, it’s probably best to just not sleep with them. They might decide later that they had no other choice

I’m trolling, but there’s a huge difference between adults having consensual sex and people feeling forced because of some power dynamic. We can’t just start canceling famous adults for sleeping with non-famous adults
if i'm a professor i should be able to show a picture of jesus and the prophet blowing each other if i give fair warning and academically and respectfully talk about the significance of the art.
