Neither really excite me, but tour dates make Foals and Local Natives look possible.
No TN date and tour dates stop prior to Bonnaroo and Firefly. I see a possibility for both. I would love Foals to be on the Roo card. Local Natives is just a bonus.

Two Nashville dates in July
Good call. Didn’t see the two dates. But their show is gonna fuckin’ suck anyway. Only the two brothers and some hired hands playin’ their first album and “all the hits” of which most chartin’ singles came from. They also said on Howard Stern this mornin’ that they’re cuttin’ all the jammin’ out. Easy pass.
I’d be excited for both, been since my first Roo since I’ve seen Local Natives and Foals have been great both times I’ve seen them and I really love their new album.
If the alternatives for big rock names are things like 21P, Cage the Elephant or Greta, we could do a whole lot worse than Foals
We could definitely do worse and the other names you listed would take up way better real estate.
This is totally unreasonable and idk why I even bother speculating to this level, but I worry that the people booking Roo would toss Foals and Local Natives into the bucket of bookings that they think will attract Inforoo types. Like thinking Foals are this year's Parquet Courts or something. Whereas 21P and Cage would be on the lineup but not a part of the plan to attract the nerdy losers on this messageboard.
Either way, both bands are fine but forgettable to me. I enjoyed LN's first to albums enough I guess. Wouldn't make a dent in my decision making either way.

I think of Foals as an Alt Nation-style booking (but much more enjoyable for me on a personal level). I imagine they'd be in a similar strategic placement to Walk the Moon from last year, and while I'm sure there's some crossover between fans of Mac/Courtney type acts and Foals, I doubt it'd predictive enough for AC to see them as substitute goods

It's probably just me but I feel like earlier this year a lot of people here were tripping over their dicks because Foals was releasing new music and going on tour.

Roo made a post about the environment with the caption “There is no planet B.” While I don’t think anyone actually expects them because of that, we are just trying to will it into existence lol
Also Foals in a tent (preferably late night) would be great. I saw them in a tent at Hangout closing out the fest vs Calvin Harris and it was a really high energy show. I think you can do a lot worse then Foals and Local Natives in both the slots they would take. Saw Local Natives earlier this year in Orlando and it was also a really good show. Prob a 3pm which slot though which wouldn’t be ideal but a 5pm tent would be cool.

Nothing to base this on beyond a gut feeling, but I really think we get Orville Peck this year. He just fits the Bonnaroo mood so perfectly, and he's a good mix of buzzy but still unknown enough it'd be pretty easy to book

I was really hoping for him to be one of the Who stage additions this year. Honey Harper was close enough. I'd be really surprised if Peck isn't at Roo this year.

You guys, Gizz just announced the Marathon show at Red Rocks in May, you’re welcome. They’re getting closer. Is Bonnaroo bad ass enough to book them for a marathon set? The answer is no. But a normal late night will rule

Wow I didn't know she had put out solo work other than CEP and Ramona Lisa until you posted this. This album is fantastic. Thank you. I really hope she's at Roo. I miss Chairlift
