It has been challenged on the grounds that it is a violation of Rule 13:
13) If an artist performs both solo and with a set band, then when one is drafted all iterations are off the table. For example, if Prince is drafted then Prince and the Revolution is off the table. However if Neil Young is drafted then Neil Young & Crazy Horse is off the table but not Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
As well as the rule about public performances as of the start of the draft:
If an act or artist played at least two live public shows they are eligible.
I think Kanye West serves more as a bandleader like some sort of Superjam than it is an actual group or band though I've to agree that the line between Kanye West as a solo act and this is very thin because of the content and tracklisting of the "shows". But in comparison to The Throne, which was allowed and have both Jay Z and Kanye performing, is different than this really? Is it the act as a supergroup itself compared to them as a solo artist, cause then I'd make the argument that West as a bandleader with this group (check Wiki for the memebers) in this is also doing a show that differs from his solo work even though they play songs of his solo material, no?
Sunday Service has been going on long before they took it to Coachella, some have been private and some have been public (like the one West did for the victims of Dayton) to say it hasn't happend atleast twice is bs, imo.

I believe that the question was whether there were any other public ones other than Coachella prior to the draft starting. It was said that the other ones prior to Coachella were private events for celebrities. Obviously the Dayton one popped up after the draft started.
