This is a thread for keeping track of all of the rumors and leaks brought here by egghead randos.
IF YOU ARE NEW HERE DO NOT TAKE ANY STOCK IN THESE
9 times out of ten leaks like these are complete bullshit. This thread is merely for the entertainment purposes of shaming those 9 (and begrudgingly acknowledging the 10th).
Please post any scoops below, and be sure to name the festival
Hi so I got a response from my friend who told me Lana, Tool, Travis
He said that nothing has changed. He told me the one he is least confident about is Lana.
His words
“She could be an act drafted in to replace someone else as she wasn’t adamant on headlining when they approached her”.
Also hearing that Travis has European festivals (supposedly) lined up for Summer 2020 it looks like Tool and Travis are correct.
I asked him who Lana could potentially be a back up for and he wouldn’t say anything. From what it sounds like, she’s not fully booked yet but the other two are. Travis has been booked for a long time.
So I first heard this a while ago from a source, heard the same a couple of more times and now digging through eFestivals somebody posted something similar to what I heard DAYS AGO (facepalm moment) so since it's out there, I'll spill it here.
Yes, I've heard there are 4 headliners this year. Three of which are most likely Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott but I'm not sure on the fourth name. According to the user in the eFestivals link below, Rage Against the Machine approached Coachella about playing this year after the three headliners were already booked and had to shift the headliners around to accommodate them, making one day have co-headliners. Supposedly this user is very well vetted on eFestivals and I believe them since it lines up with what I've heard with there being 4 headliners, which is why I included 4 in my mock (though Sade is just me being me lol).
RATM stepping in very late into the game is probably a big reason why the rumors this year have been absolutely nuts lol.
I will go ahead and diffuse the Tool rumors now so y’all don’t get blue balls in January.
Also, Vampire Weekend is going to be there but not billed quite as high as some people here seem to believe. Think more like Hozier or Cardi’s spot this year.
I’ve found out that lineups are constructed SO far in advance! 2020’s lineup is virtually entirely complete and I already have some confirmations for 2021 (none of which are headliner-level acts, but still)
I used to think that lineups were put together in the last 5-6 months before the reveal, but just like with most things I say in here, I was way wrong!!
