Kubrick // OK "During this time, Kubrick began frequenting film screenings at the Museum of Modern Art and the cinemas of New York City."
Chaplin // EH "Nevertheless, both Winston Churchill and President Roosevelt liked the film, which they saw at private screenings before its release. On his birthday, 16 April, City Lights was screened at a gala at the Dominion Theatre in London, the site of its British premiere in 1931. In Hollywood, a screening of a restored version of How to Make Movies was held at his former studio, and in Japan, he was honoured with a musical tribute."
Tarkovsky // EH "Andrei Rublev was not, except for a single screening in Moscow in 1966, immediately released after completion due to problems with Soviet authorities." I don't think he held (a lot of screenings) due to the Sovjets though he did showcase his work at film festivals but idk if that's okay enough since it's not really public, is it? I'm only assuming ofcourse.
Lynch // OK Did have several screenings for his films.
Miyazaki // OK
Anderson // OK
Only Tarkovsky and Chaplin seem to be a yellow flags/unclear if they did hold screenings of their films or not due to Sovjet influence on him and his films with Tarkovsky and barely any evidence of Chaplin holding two public ones. The rest are fine, I think.
