Looks like Tool is in for Sonic Temple? And lineup "in January", weird that we don't have a more concrete lineup date yet for a festival happening in May.

he's been a nashville songwriter for a long time, mainly for and with Morgan Wallen. his music is split between genuinely solid songwriting with a kind of grungy/hard rock edge to it and, and i'm sure this half will appeal to no one, bro country that's self aware. he knows it's cheesy as shit and leans into it hard. this song is the best example of that second category:
i think his set will go over pretty well here but it's nuts to see him at #3 on his day here.

I know Jelly Roll drew an absolutely massive crowd in 2021, so I guess they're trying to recapture that?

Wish they’d do one of these butt rock fests in SoCal with Tool, System of a Down, NIN, and Rob Zombie playing Hellbilly Deluxe. Closest one is Afterschock in Sacramento, yeah?

With DWP putting on another butt rock festival in the same area (central Ohio) just 2 months later I could definitely see them shifting Sonic Temple away from full on butt rock. Foo Fighters headlined a night at the FL festival and that day leaned much more alt rock.

Definitely bought into the PJ hype after multiple seemingly pointed clues on Instagram, but beyond that, I figured booking PJ would mean they’d book a bit more indie/alt rather than doubling down on boring buttrock. Definitely not worth $400+ for this
