Has Garth ever played one of the big multigenre fests before? I dont know a ton of his stuff but that'd objectively be a huge get
Nope. He has played Stagecoach most recently and then of course done stuff for CMA. He does LN tours so its not a big stretch that they mightve roped him in.
George Strait makes so much sense it hurts but he hasn’t really done music festivals, let alone multi genre festivals. Despite that, ACL snagging a Texas legend for their 20th anniversary would be huge and something I figured they were doing.

George pops up for country fests every now and then, more recently now that he’s *insert quotation mark hand symbol to indicate sarcasm* “retired.” Still would be an awesome grab.

Strait seems slightly easier to get to me because he's played the Houston Rodeo more recently than Garth but then I looked it up and it's a difference of 2019 vs 2018 so not dramatically different. Garth opened and closed that shit in 2018, though. The Texas thing also helps, whether it's the 20th ACL or the 19th or whatever.
also would like to say, whether it’s george or garth or whoever the hell. can we at least get some appropriate subs so we don’t have a lil uzi vert -> tame impala type situation?
It’s probably the dude who has the #1 country album right now...
why...why would you even put this curse on us.
also morgan wallen isn't even headlining country festivals on his own yet, doubt the first fest he ever headlines is ACL.
He is now. The one festival out of four he's not currently headlining was announced before his album dropped and blew up. That album was massive, being the best charting debut ever for a country album. He's huge now, especially among the younger crowd. I think he's undeniably a country headliner at this point, as much as I don't support the dude. As much as I'd rather see other country artists headline ACL, Wallen just seems like a no-brainer pick IMO.
