since nothing is happening in Southern California this year I was really hoping this lineup would be enough to get me back out to Austin for ACL #4, but this isn't it. there are some acts I'd definitely like to see, but I'm sure I can just catch them local (or at Bottlerock).
Black Pumas ascension is wild. I understand being a local favorite but topping two Pitchfork headliners (yet not Badu) is insane.
I've paid the same just to see Strait so I'm ok with this. Especially since it's walking distance from my place.
Black Pumas must have got Hozier’s booking agent. Their music is just such bland Spotify playlist industry fodder and I refuse to believe anyone is actually a Black Pumas fan
Feels very small, but not 'that' bad. Billing of Black Pumas and MGK is certainly interesting, as is GvF's relatively low (?) billing.
Black Pumas sold out 5 nights at a 2,000 person venue in town and the music industry has clearly decided that they are going to be a big thing. Don't think their billing is that unexpected.

I know I’m in the minority here but there’s enough on this lineup for me to enjoy and I won’t pass up the opportunity to see George again so I’m in for Weekend 1.
Now I’m really pessimistic about Voodoo. Maybe they get Nails or Foo Fighters which will make it worth the 49.99 I’m already in for rolling over previous GA. Platinum looks highly unlikely. Bah.

i mean, Hozier has mainstream hits and about 8x as many monthly Spotify plays as Black Pumas do
i like them, but I assume their booking reflects them being Austin locals

My wife has had me purchase exactly 3 versions of their LP. There are a lot of people who really enjoy them.
I'm not crazy about this lineup. Probably will miss this year which is a real bummer. It's super kid friendly which is great for my family. Maybe the daily breakdown will move me more.

Eh I kinda get the Pumas placement cos hometown fest. Doubt they’d be as high up elsewhere even after the Grammy noms. Either way I enjoy them & they’ll probably make for a fun show closing out a secondary stage or something.

They are only billed a couple places higher at ACL than they are at Bottle Rock.
