On line now. Platinum is $1300 + 123.50 in fees. While it's probably the current best deal in the industry, I swore I would not do this again until I knew the lineup. I'll buy a $99.00 GA (probably $125 or so) and just give that to one of my kids if I end up deciding to go platinum again later. Else I'll pick off a Platinum from Stubhub or something. Fuck 'em.
Got the GA. Comes to just over $131 including shipping.
Rage Against the Machine| Kendrick Lamar | My Chemical Romance
Don’t know who the Hip/Hop slot could be... The Weeknd, Kendrick, & Posty all played recently so that rules them out. There’s no way Kanye will play here and I feel like Drake would do a arena show. So that leaves us with J.Cole, Gambino, & Frank Ocean.
I feel pretty confident that the rock slot could be Pearl Jam. I suppose it could be Rage but with it being a election year why would they play Louisiana? Especially with it being close to Election Day wouldn’t they want to play swing states? There’s talks of a AC/DC reunion happening in 2020 but I’m not too sure on how well Guns n Roses did this year to have any say.
MCR just seems like a good fit to play the alternative slot.
-okay so after seeing rage on every festival line up this year I changed my mind lol

Guns N Roses was packed and made my top 1 show of the year. They said Beck was the smallest headliner crowd but he was against Bassnectar that night. Either was the right choice. As for My Chemical Romance, they had a relationship with the original promoter as they sub HL’d for Soundgarden and sucked fwiw. Rehage brought Gerard Way back a couple years later but I didn’t see it. I just don’t trust that I can guess much anymore of what C3 might do. Voodoo was mostly an alternative and rock festival before C3. They genericized it to where you can see most of the acts on other major lineups. I personally hate AC/DC after Highway to Hell, so that wouldn’t do shit for me. I’d still probably see them because you aren’t going to probably get many more chances. As for Rage, who knows? They don’t mark for Democrats - they usually protest them. So I don’t think it matters where they might play. The only caveat would be if Senator Sanders became the nominee. The check on that would be whoever is Headliners probably already has a contract. Pearl Jam would be fine with me. One of the three Voodoos where the best show I saw that year was there (Soundgarden 11, Pearl Jam 13 and GNR 19), they completely ruled.
I’ll guess Nine Inch Nails, J Cole if he doesn’t play Jazz Fest and something like 21 Pilots or The Strokes.
Please let voodoo get rage and mcr third headliner can be anyone at this point but nin would be perfect
I was just thinking if either would be in play. MCR doesn't play in NOLA and tour stops mid October. Would certainly make sense.
this is honestly my hope for seeing MCR and definitely fits the fest and tour schedule. Still not sure on rage but i am potentially gonna make the trip to firefly if i don’t know more of rages tour path soon lol
Thinking about buying my ticket this week if just in case we end up getting Rage | Frank/Kendrick | MCR
yeah I’ve been tempted to go to firefly for Rage but live in Alabama. Also was tempted to buy music midtown for mcr even tho music midtown was easily one of my least favorite fests but then i decided to take to wait and take a a change hoping Rage and MCR will both be here or atleast mcr here and rage more dates. I know in the past they’ve had a hip hop headliner past few years but rage, soad, and mcr would be real sweet!
I don’t have a feel anymore for their bookings. Pearl Jam isn’t playing here on tour or jazz fest. So I could see them or NIN rock headlining. Maybe Kendrick or J Cole for rap and who knows what for 3rd headliner. Could be 21 Pilots or a Billie Eilish promotion if they do another Kidz Bop Sunday. No idea though. I got the 99.00 GA, but I’d splurge for Platinum if NIN or PJ and say Pretty Lights and at least a rapper I like are at or near the top.

i ended up for the first time vip just last night since i see they have a new viewing for the altar stage. And any of those would work for me to go back. Any combination for me of Rage MCR Eminem System of a Down J Cole Kendrick Lamar Nine Inch Nails or Pearl Jam would still make me happy with my purchase.

Just a heads up last year the elevated areas were a super far from the stage itself

I would prefer Rage over MCR but that's only personal taste. I do hope they don't blow all the cash on the headliners and leave the bottom of the poster full of nobodies.
MCR was terrible at Voodoo 2011. Luckily Red Baraat and Soundgarden cleaned that trash out of our ears afterwards. Great people watching w/ MCR though with the high concentration of hot topic goth kids, like the sparkly kind that would never cut themselves or anything like that.

I completely hedged my bet and bought two tix for RATM in St Louis. Didn't get floor, but first level at $125/ticket. If Voodoo get's them, all the better.

Feels like this was handled about as well as it could have been re refunds. Get your cash back or take the $50/ticket. That's a great add on if you bought the $99 ticket - damn, 3 days for $49?! Gotta wait 18 months but still.... I just hope big bands are back out next year and we can get some of those long overdue bands like Radiohead or RHCP.

Guess its time to see who JF has before I decide on Buku. Just gonna roll my tix over - at this point that money is long gone, might as well see what they bring in 22. Can't help but think the mayor had something to do with this.

Just gonna throw this out there but Iron Maiden’s tour ends the weekend of voodoo fest idk if that would make them more or less likely tho but ends in Tampa so not too far away either.
Iron Maiden/ My Chemical Romance/ Tyler the Creator
