I doubt RATM spends one of the last two weekends before the election in New Orleans
I don’t know if they would or wouldn’t, but they played Voodoo last in 2007. Hopefully they play here in some capacity if I don’t get to see them at ACL or Bonnaroo, either of which I’d return to to see them. I’m one of the old Mfers that caught them in 1993. Otherwise it’s been 2 shows of Prophets who I personally think are great as fuck live and one other time Morello played with Ozzy and Slash here.
We are keeping our eyes out for RATM. It would be awesome at Voodoo, I don't think they would play here but I would be down!
Why do you think that? I don't have an opinion on the likelihood either way. I'm sure if Rehage was still running it, we would get a return visit. I have no idea on LN and C3.

Because Rehage isn't running it, the chances of the state flipping from red to blue is highly unlikely and I think they are going to hit mostly battleground states and it's in late October. Idk. I hope I am wrong, but I have very little faith left in Voodoo.
It's a significantly better experience than when he ran it even if there's too much of the same shit that's on all the other lineups compared to you knew you were going to get more 90's rock and random shit.
I don't think Rage will be trying to influence anyone to go from red to blue. Their protest in 2000 where some heads got bashed was the Democratic National Convention (more for Gore or the son of a druq lord, none of the above f'n cut the chord).
Obviously like most people, they know the lesser of two evils. But they're more leftist and revolutionary. Short of Bernie being at the head of the ticket which does not look particularly likely at this point, I think they'll be railing against all.

100% correct. The old show was a shiz show.
I think the bigger Q is who can afford RATM. They announced they are headlining coachella before the coachella lineup announce. The only person to do that was beyonce when she got pregnant and said she was coming back the next year. The payday must be enormous and voodoo is cheap.
The Alt slot could be anyone... I have no clue on whos releasing in 2020. I don’t see the Hip-Hop slot being anyone else since it’s probably likely Drake and The Weeknd will do arena shows and there’s no way Kanye would headline Voodoo fest nowadays.
Could see MCR playing in the BMTH slot

Killers just closed out 17, so they won’t be there.
[quote author="Vieux " source="/post/2376925/thread" timestamp="1574917243"]I'd love MCR.
preheadlining for Soundgarden was still one of my least favorite shows of all time. I probably need to see them in a different context to be fair.
I wasn't allowed to go to that show that night. My ex was not a fan and it was a whole thing. I regretted not being able to see them. I am sad that it wasn't good. Hopefully they will be great during the reunion tour.

mcr is way bigger than bmth. They are top 4 or bust here

I am not at all sure how I'd feel about AC/DC. Can the singer really hit the notes again? As for Kendrick, dude was just here a few years back but damn it was good. If he drops a new album I'd probably be into that.
I don't like AC/DC despite how much I always dug metal. I can deal with Powerage and High Voltage and maybe even up to Highway to Hell. Bon Scott was decent, but I never liked Brian Johnson or his voice.
3 Day Tickets On Sale Next Thursday with the $99.00 tickets back.
GA: $99 ($120, $140, $160, $170, $180) GA+: $225 ($250, $275) VIP: $400 ($450, $475) Pla: $1300 <-- not a bad deal this year ($1350, $1400)
Living relatively close to the festival should convince me to go but buying tickets this far in advance is just silly.
It's a toss up between ACL or Voodoo for October festivals. I think I'll wait until the lineup drops.
ACL will always be bigger and have a bigger lineup because they have way more stages and more attendees. You can guarantee ACL will be the choice if you base on the lineup. However, Voodoo is way more fun than ACL and it's not close at all. ACL is great for the music and for going hang in Austin for a few days, so I pretty much have it on permanent now. Voodoo for $99 is probably the best GA value there is.

All true, but Voodoo looks so damn good most of the time + I love New Orleans. Just feel that doing both is asking too much.
Is this a wishlist or the truth? Pearl Jam is lining up for a fall tour/album release. and they played in 2013, so its not out of the realm of possibility. I'd probably stand way in the back for MCR to save my ears from the "female frequency" as I call it. Can't see J. Cole being a headliner.
Kendrick is doing Festivals, but unless his album is an absolute banger, I doubt he would come back so quickly since he was just here in 2017.
Hope Pearl Jam is true though. I love them to death and have no funds to follow them around Europe this summer.

They added a VIP viewing in front of the Altar Stage. This makes this sort of equal to the old LOA (except presale price was $225 in the past) including the final $475 price point.

I'm buying some GA and VIP today. Seeing the other price levels, I'll be able to sell whichever I don't use and still make a little $. Now they just gotta come with that lineup that is an improvement over last year. PJ would be great. I still feel like Billie E would also be great, I hate they missed her last year when she was at ACL.

It wasn't particularly good or anything to write home about. I've actually never been to a show with that demographic before (lots of girls under 14 with their mothers and adult supervisors). I didn't hate it, and I didn't particularly like it. It was okay.
As I posted in the ACL thread, it was a mistake to have left Gary Clark Jr., and my daughter who drug us over there told me unsolicited that we should have stayed at Gary Clark Jr. I agreed 1000%. I'm glad she is a voice for people who like her attitude and spunk. She's a decent singer.
