This is posted on the Gov Ball Website. Brand New lineup for 2021. Hopefully Firefly is able to keep Rage.
It doesn’t surprise me that they are gonna start over from scratch. I didn’t really expect acts like Stevie, Miley, Foals, Flume, Missy, etc. to be on the new one. I wonder if this means that we get Tame.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Yeah, this has been my "concern" for lack of a better term. We have received no indication or leak that Firefly intends to keep the lineup. Not like Roo where What Pod and InfinityPass said they were keeping 60%. Firefly's lineup could be completely new, too.
There will definitely be changes, but it would make sense that acts like Billie, RTJ, etc. stay on. My hope is that Rage stays, but it’d make sense if Foos were the replacement. Personally, I wouldn’t mind if they did make some swaps. Khalid, Blink 182, etc. don’t really move the needle for me so I’d be more than happy to take someone like Megan as a replacement.

Blink appeals to my fam, and I think they'd be fun to re-live some childhood songs. Khalid can go.
I really hope they keep the EDM lineup. It's very crowd pleasing and fun, in my opinion. EDM is what I primarily listen to, but anyone can have fun at shows like Cash Cash, Big Wild, Loud Luxury, Cat Dealers, etc. Then for people who are more involved with the genre there is Nghtmre, Illenium (not so underground anymore lol), RL Grime, Clozee, Lucii, Whipped Cream.
On the 2020 lineup, there's something for everyone.
Fun fact: a weeklong Barcelona trip for Primavera can be cheaper than a Bonnaroo journey if you play your cards right.
If you have any tips or tricks I would love to hear them here or in a pm
Haha, well, I will concede that it does somewhat depend on where you are traveling from (e.g., proximity to airports or whether Roo is fairly nearby), and having more people in your group will make lodging a bit cheaper due to Airbnb possibilities rather than hotels.
The real secret is jumping on the creditcard signup bonus churning game to collect travel points that can easily cover your flights and accommodations. But this really isn't that difficult, and if you can spend time on forums like these, it's not that much harder to put in the man hours needed to do your research on what cards will get you to your desired travel goal. For instance, getting just one appropriate creditcard and meeting the minimum spend requirement can cover one person's roundtrip airfare from North America to Barcelona in economy class. There are some associated fees with these, but you will always end up with massive cost savings. I ran the numbers for 2022 based on various current card offers, and for annual fees and other Plastiq costs (a third party vendor to help with hitting the spend bonus) totaling like $400, you could get roundtrip airfare and 5-6 nights hotel accomodations covered. There's a really good subreddit with a ton of resources, and this page is good too.
In addition, festival tickets to Primavera as well as food and drinks are way cheaper than in America, and you could even bring in your own food into the festival. Other costs during your remainder stay in Barcelona can be as cheap or as pricey as you make it, but it's totally doable on a budget.
Other than the above, the big cost savings compared to Bonnaroo are what you save on on-site food and drinks (which are always overpriced in America), as well as the many expenditures associated with camping and related gear that are not needed for a city festival.

This is really interesting, I'll keep in mind when I make my *planned* trek to Tomorrowland 2022.

There's going to be a lot of competition for a lot of festivals with close (or even exactly the same) weekends. They'll need to get the lineups out sooner than later to keep pace.

I just think that the April 12th date from III points showed that there was some sort of internal timing for AEG around either the end of this week or the beginning of next week

I’m really hoping that they were able to keep Rage on board. Them and Billie were probably gonna be their biggest ticket movers. Maybe they could tout it as Rage’s only 2021 show?

theres no way Firefly got the only Rage show of the year

Yea I think you can probably count them out unless they release an updated tour schedule soon. I'd think it unlikely the first RATM show of the year announced is Firefly.

Rage’s tour has been pushed to 2022. They are still playing Ottawa Bluesfest and Festival d'été de Québec, but no mention of Firefly and it looks like they are still on for Coachella. They do have a gap in June though. They’ll probably be in for 2022.

Looks like a Stone cold lock
I would figure they're a lock for 2022 otherwise, presumably rage would have announced the Camden show again with these dates, unless Camden has just straight up been abandoned and they just so happen to take a month off mid tour
