Just want to make sure I’m following the argument here. NIN announced some shows that they said were their only headlining sets of the year, but they might play Firefly as sub for Foo Fighters because Trent and Dave are friends and AEG is bored and once booked Sigur Ros at Hangout as part of a larger US tour. Is that correct?
-The announcement was ambiguously worded: it's not that NIN said that the Cleveland dates would be their only 2021 performances (note the difference).
-Trent and Grohl having worked together in the past doesn't mean shit for current year bookings.
-If NIN is doing festival dates this fall (which seems especially likely for Riot Fest and Louder Than Life), then yes, in theory Firefly could work based on AEG having made left-field bookings in the past at other fests.
I’ve seen them three times. Once was at Panorama Festival. Frank Ocean and Tame Impala where the other headliners. Sure it was in NYC but they were pretty much an “out of place” booking compared to anyone else on the lineup that year. Packed Crowds still showed up to see all three headliners. Again I don’t think it’s gonna happen and I’m with ya on keeping expectations low but the “crowd” being what keeps a NIN or a PJ away from this festival seems like a stretch. Especially when we’ve booked bands as big as RATM and Paul McCartney. Shit even Morrisey and Bob Dylan have played the festival. Why can’t NIN?
forever kicking myself for not going to Pano that year, one of the best sets of headliners ive ever seen

I was abroad that summer, but yeah, same.
That was legit one of the coolest festival lineups ever to hit NYC and not a single goddamn day of it sold out and Panorama pivoted the following year in an effort to save itself before folding outright.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 11/18 - Slowdive @ Brooklyn Paramount 11/21 - Caribou @ Avant Gardner 11/23 - LCD Soundsystem @ Knockdown Center 11/25 - TV on the Radio @ Webster Hall 12/5 - LCD Soundsystem @ Knockdown Center 12/7 - LCD Soundsystem @ Knockdown Center

Good times.
well their pivot allowed me to see Byrne -> Fleet Foxes -> The XX -> Moodymann so

Oh, I had a blast at Pano 2018, too (RIP Friday, though) - and that run you mentioned on Sunday (I'd add Mount Kimbie at the front of that list) was ridiculous.

Being 7 hours away that weekend is the only relevant fact.
Who we getting at 11 AM? Green Day, Foo, or Hip Hop?
I think I'm pulling for Dave, but would be very happy with Foo. Green Day would decent but I'd be surprised if they had the exact same headliners as Life Is Beautiful.

Would absolutely love Dave, too. Not trying to get my hopes up, though.
I'm developing carpal tunnel from clicking back and forth between here, reddit, and Twitter- convinced we're getting something in the next few hours.
Just turn post notifications on their Twitter like Firefly suggested. You'll know right away when they announce something. If you don't have Twitter you could use Instagram or Facebook.
unpopular opinion on this board but I think the last Killers album that Ariel produced was pretty good
Looks like he only produced one song. Jonathan Rado generally does good work though.
I didnt realize he only did one song. I listen to an interview with Brandon Flowers on Ezra Koenig's podcast and Flower made it seem like they worked a lot with Ariel. Anyways pretty good album.
Also pretty good on firefly to book a festival with two women headliners after the blowback they got from Halsey and some others a couple of lineups back
