Holy quack, someone on the booking team has to be drinking buddies with Cage the Elephant and The Killers, because it's basically a residency at this point

Props to Firefly for also putting some effort into the 2nd half of the undercard. There are plenty of name brand acts in there with some quality. There were a couple years where they were just throwing like Delaware band contest winners down there.
The undercard is definitely interesting. Not enough for me to do all 4 days but if Saturday can be some combination Marc Rebillet, madeon, Denzel curry, Oliver tree, band of horses, caribou, Rezz, tame impala. Could definitely make a day out of that
Nice variety in the headliners and undercard...as most said not amazing but definitely a fine lineup and what I wish Gov Ball wouldve gone for instead of going only for the kids

I like this better than Gov Ball (probably just a result of being more of an alt-rock vs hip-hop person), but it's not special enough to work out drive and camping/airBNB logistics so it's the local Gov Ball for me.
This is a nice sign though because it's EXACTLY what Firefly is: Alt Nation + Top-40 EDM + Some fun nostalgia + Laughable repeats (sorry Cold War Kids on not making it) + some WTF cool prestige gets. It's charming the festival is being true to its root. It'll sell great and I think anyone who goes to Firefly regularly will be stoked.
And regarding The Killers - i get that they play Firefly a lot but they also put out a good new album in the interim and if you're going to have a house band headliner basically - there are few who have more of a crowd-pleasing set and relevant mass appeal.

A shocking lack of Cold War Kids, AWOLNATION, Young the Giant, Walk the Moon, and Matt&Kim though.

They will absolutely all be there next year for the 10 year anniversary lineup
very surprised at how decent that is. still doing gov ball because of Jamie and 100 gecs but hopefully this means a tour from a lot of those artists like Denzel Curry, Phoebe Bridgers, Caribou, etc

In a year in which I wasn’t already booked for Bonnaroo and Sea.Hear.Now, this would 100% get my money. Some really good names down the undercard. Also, my basic ass loved that last Killers record, and I’ve only seen them once before (Pano 2018).
This is the most appealing Firefly lineup, IMO, since 2016. Solid headliners, all things considered. I am shocked to see a big headliner (Billie) on Thursday for the first time- that day’s been kinda skippable most years after 2014. Lots of good Indie undercard- I’m especially stoked to see Phoebe Bridgers, Arlo Parks and Mt. Joy as up close as possible.
This may sell out, considering carryover tickets from last year and pent-up demand. Any idea how many kept their tickets from 2020?
Its funny how people doubt the powers and wallet at AEG on what they can and cant do. If theyre punting on Coachella then all their energy is going into this and that could include random af bookings cause they got nothing else to do.
Alright, I live in the general area and have never made it to Firefly. My latent desire to go to as much live music as possible has me considering this, and my buddy has an RV he'd be willing to roll out. What do I need to know about RV camping? Worth the trouble vs traditional camping?
I've only done camping at Coachella, so would be interested to know how it compares in terms of setup.
I’m not sold that Billie is actually playing Thursday. If this is actually 4 full days the days are going to be thin
How are you not sold on something that's literally on the poster
yeah idk I just don’t read it that way, just as listing the 4 days the fest is taking place. The consensus seems to believe I am wrong so I probably am

RV is worth it in my opinion. I’d go front row RV if it’s offered this year as the walk from general RV (on the infield of the racetrack) can be relatively long. Driving the RV on a short portion of the Delaware speedway is pretty cool. RV scene is definitely a little less intense than GA camping. It’s a little older and a little more low key.
