Alright, I live in the general area and have never made it to Firefly. My latent desire to go to as much live music as possible has me considering this, and my buddy has an RV he'd be willing to roll out. What do I need to know about RV camping? Worth the trouble vs traditional camping?
I've only done camping at Coachella, so would be interested to know how it compares in terms of setup.
RV is worth it in my opinion. I’d go front row RV if it’s offered this year as the walk from general RV (on the infield of the racetrack) can be relatively long. Driving the RV on a short portion of the Delaware speedway is pretty cool. RV scene is definitely a little less intense than GA camping. It’s a little older and a little more low key.
Front Row is offered, and that's part of what is confusing me. Why is the parking CLOSER to the festival cheaper? Is there something about the race track that makes it worth twice as much to park there and be further away from the fest?
yeah looking at Billies lineup she also has it listed as Thursday. If this is 4 full days for the first time ever this lineup is a lot worse unless there are significant additions when the daily’s drop

Alright, to answer my own question a bit -- missed the note about power, waste, and water hook-ups. That's probably a big part.

electric hookups. I believe that front row does not have them.
Just saw this. You’re right. I think you could get waste pumped the last time I was in front row RV for a fee. But we restricted showering in the RV and used the porta potties a lot of them time to reduce water consumption.
The pros and cons between front row and general RV probably come down to how much you feel the need to run the AC.
Remember conflicts at festivals? People always think a top tier/good/heavy lineup is great until the daily schedules come out and every artist is playing at the same time.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
Looks like a firefly lineup. They love their indie repeats though it’s kinda funny. If Sunday shakes out with enough I like I’ll hit it up. I’ve seen Lizzo plenty of times but would love to be there for her first HL appearance. There’s like 22 acts on here I like, problem is I’ve seen most of them.
If you can pull out 5-10 artists on a lineup. Discover 5-10 more. That’s sounds like a good time at any fest. You can’t see them all.
big difference between 10 and 20 over the course of a festival, imo.
When it comes to price you’d spend more to see 10 solo shows than you will at a festival. Say you like 1 headliner($80) 2 midcards($40) 3 undercards($20). That’s $220 already for 5 shows.

thats not the same thing, though. I cant do a full weekend at a festival unless i can see at least 5 sets s day

yeah not the same thing at all, especially factoring time. a solo show I can get to the show and be home within 4 hours or so
There’s just not enough good stuff here to spread evenly over four days.
Yep. Thursday is only 3 PM to 12 AM instead of 12 PM to 2 AM on the other days. I think they might just put Billie on Thursday and not use another act above #12 or so, but that might be wishful thinking.
I wonder if Billie said Thursday, take it or leave it.

And you CAN see 5 sets a day. Discovering new artist is also a great part of festivals. Sometimes bands sound better live than on record and vice versa. to each their own though. I’m into 37/93 acts so the value for me is great.

I'll definitely be concerned if Thursday is a full day. This lineup is decent for a traditional Firefly Thr-Sun, but if you start plugging acts from the weekend and putting them on Thursday this will thin out quick.
