Clearly talking about Maroon 5..... think bigger. They’ve played two fest in the last 5 years at Jazz heritage and Summerfest. They clearly don’t do actual festivals.
Bigger name than Tame Impala - MCR - Maroon 5 or just a better lineup that what walaka posted?
I'm not even sure who'd that be. Pretty awesome if it was Elton John or Bruce, but I'm thinking maybeeeee Pearl Jam? Waiting on those new dates to inevitably sell out before releasing the lineup? Tickets on sale Jan 24th, probably sell out right away. Firefly releases Jan 28th? There are only a few names actually available beyond a legacy act that I can think of.
Pearl Jam will be in Germany on the 23rd and 25th, and I’m not sure if they’d be willing to do this at this point in their career.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

Pearl Jam begins their month and a half long european trek on the 23rd of June. They're not out but the chances of it being them are incredibly slim. Especially considering Philadelphia is basically guaranteed to be apart of their fall second leg and it's one of PJ biggest markets. Elton or Bruce are good ideas. I wanna believe it's a better lineup because of Infinitypass but it's just really hard

To be fair a top line of Lineup looking something like
Maroon 5 | Bassnectar | Run the Jewels
My Chemical Romance | Miley Cyrus | Cage the Elephant
Tame Impala | Solange | Logic
Would sell insanely well for this fest
MCR is out and that might be the hold up to begin with. Theyre supposed to be in the UK June 20th, and thats been solid for a bit. So unless something changed, dont expect them there. Guess them backing out of Coachella had a bigger rippple effect than some realized.

I just don't think Bruce will be interested in doing this. He's still yet to announce the next E Street Tour and I just see it being traditional stadium tour.
The Cure would really interest me but I think it would be a mistake for Firefly. Just doesn't fit the demo for the money it would cost.

Nothing is verified with MCR yet. Do you have any insider information to confirm this?

If Coldplay straps their gear to their backs and starts walking from Malibu. I’m certain they could make it to firefly to play a surprise headlining set for the clean up crew on Monday.
Coldplay already confirmed that the only shows they were doing were the ones they just did for the videos for the songs they released. No more shows until the next album. That’s been their cycle anyway. 2 albums then a tour.

I'm honestly shocked that the Cure haven't shown any signs of activity this year. They said they'd be in the US this year, and they played damn near every Euro fest worth playing last year. Still expecting a summer tour, so Firefly wouldn't surprise me.

I'd love to see Coldplay tour again at some point this year they are one of my FAVORITE bands, and yea Everyday Life will not be a 'toured' album.
THEN AGAIN the rumor is April/May will be the 'radio-friendly'/less experimental album for which they will tour for, and an EU tour is '18 months from now' Chris Martian said in an interview a Lil while ago so who knows!
I went to Sasquatch in 2016 and they had The Cure headline for like a 2 hour set. Very few people went. The first hour they were unopposed but the second half Big Grams was on another stage. People just went and waited for Big Grams, including myself. Apparently The Cure ended the set early and had some pissed off words. Not sure if that would be a good move for Firefly, and if they were to go the legacy route I’m sure they can get someone that appeals to the current festival crowd more. But what do I know lol
I'm now in full tin foil hat mode over the fact that neither this, Boston Calling, nor Firefly have officially published their lineups - 3 east coast fests that would typically have their lineups out, by now. It must be the same thing/person/act holding all 3 up.
that thing about rage wanting to release all their tour dates at the same time is looking more credible every day.
