Hi all! I am going to Europe in the beginning of the summer for a work trip. I will be working near Milan during the weeks but will have Saturdays through Mondays off for 3 weekends. I already plan on going to Prima for one of them (please please please book Frank on Saturday), and have the other two weekends open. I was thinking about going to Croatia for one of them with a couple friends and will likely pick that as one unless I find something cool that I absolutely can't pass up (I am extroverted to a fault and need to constantly be around people I like). Do you all have any suggestions?
-I love warm weather and beaches (I still loved Amsterdam when I went earlier this year though) -I have already been to Interlaken, Amsterdam, and most of the big tourist cities in Italy -I obviously really love music -I will have just graduated college and will be on a pretty serious budget as the job is not paying for much outside of the free trip to Europe lol -Drinking destinations are not really my thing. I do not like beer, unless that beer is busch lite. Sorry I know I suck -It's a plus if I can travel by train
That’s two votes for Berlin. Besides the club scene and history (which isn’t a huge draw for me) What else is there to do? I’d be sacrificing warm weather if I went

I guess the question then becomes what are you interested in? When I was traveling the history was some of the coolest parts and Berlin is p crazy but if you just want to go somewhere with a warm beach it’s obviously not the best option.

I guess I could have phrased it better. I tend to like historic things when I can view them at my leisure. I don’t really care for tours because I want to be able to view something and learn about it at my own pace and I feel like tours give me either not enough time to soak something in or an awkward amount of time where I’m standing around. The holocaust is a very massive historic event and I imagine that a lot of it is very guided.
I also don’t want it to seem like i “just want to go to a warm beach” because I want to keep my options open. I can go to warm beaches in the states and not have to worry about a language barrier. But if there is a place that I don’t know about that has a ton of cool stuff and is warm and beachy I’ll be pumped.
Santorini/Greece is pretty rad and you can get cheap flights from Italy if you do want that relaxing beach. You wouldn’t have to worry about the language barrier since most speak English anyways. It’s just a cool island to get lost in and explore. Lots of different kinds of beaches (some completely on their own or not busy at all). You can get an ATV for like $100 for three days and move around the island at your own discretion. Someone will literally meet you at the airport with one so you can have wheels waiting right after you land. It’s also small enough of an island where you can stay anywhere on it and not really feel isolated or like you’re missing out. Plenty of good deals for lodging with that in mind.
Majorca is another option since you’ll already be in Spain. This is my backup for Glastonbury this Summer. I don’t really know all that much about it, but it’s been super cheap to plan so far and has some cool looking mountain villages, aside from the beach.
Berlin is one of my favorite cities in the world though, so if all else fails you really can’t go wrong there. There’s tons of history and obviously the night life is legit. It’s also pretty cheap and easy to navigate.

Split fits what you’re looking for p well in Croatia and is rly cheap. You could also just take a quick train from Milan to the coast of Italy. I’ve never been there but Cinque Terre in Italy is one of my dream destinations, seems beautiful.
