HARD agree on this. After they released At the Door, I had high hopes for this album, and it definitely delivered. I had this struggle earlier this year with whether its worth it to see the strokes in 2020, and i decided it wasn't, but this album changed my mind on that.

Regardless of your opinion on Lizzo's music, one only needs to look at her crowds from last year's festivals (i.e. dangerously overcrowded to the point where it was a fire hazard) to gauge her headline status. I'd imagine she's still a cheaper booking as far as big names go, so her presence is budget friendly, helps dramatically boost ticket sales to the youth, and the festival can look good in the press by putting a black woman at the top. From a PR and marketing perspective, Lizzo's an easy win, and given how a lot of festivals might not survive the pandemic for a do-over year, you take the easy wins right now.
I wasn't aware of her crowd size but I know she's been climbing up the lineups with higher and higher bookings. Regardless of my personal opinion of her music, I just didn't think she was a headliner yet. Just a year ago, she was 4th line at Coachella. I know a lot can change in a year but 4th line to headliner is a huge jump. But yeah from a PR perspective you can't argue with the move. From a music perspective, you probably could though.
