Man, you guys are making me feel old. I shut this off when he started talking about his designer "undies"
Is there no longer a middle ground between cornball, uzi vert mumble-rap and cornball, eminem "classic" rap?
Sad
Try Run The Jewels, Freddie Gibbs/Madlib, Pusha T, Rapsody, the last Jay Z album... there's plenty of rappers making music that mostly appeals to older out of touch people
I'll give props where they're due; the production is dope. But dude's voice is indistinguishable from every other pop rapper these days, his lyrics are mostly garbage, and his flow is non-existent.

Felt like The Weeknd didn’t have much to offer other than the singles that had already been released. Loved the Porridge Radio album. Haven’t gotten to listen to a lot for obvious reasons.

A lot of decent releases this month, but nothing so far that's blown me away. I enjoyed Gambino's album a lot at first, but the more I listen the more I see it's not cohesive and jumps from island sounds to experimental shit. Wish it had better flow. Four Tet's album was okay, but doesn't compel me to keep listening to it. I'm enjoying The Weeknd; it's not bad but just sounds like a bunch of The Weeknd songs. Liked his previous projects more. Got more stuff to check out but kinda hanging my hat on Nico at this point.

Kinda crazy that in the last weeks I've gotten to listen to new Nicolas Jaar, AAL, Sufjan, Arca, Four Tet, Caribou, etc. Literally some of my favorite artists of all time.
