reminds me of being at work a few years back. an internal auditor was doing a surprise audit of our branch that day. she was asking about my weekend plans and i said i was going to Cincinnati to see Phish for two nights. While we were talking about that fedex showed up with a package for me. The auditor said "Oh are those your tickets for this weekend" and i was like "nah this is tickets for phish in charlottesville, VA in two weeks".

Gonna throw out something I said to the collusion chat and Pablo just for fun.
When watching virtual Roo-ality, the "funny" Old Crow Medicine Show set had the main guy making a line of jokes about "things you miss about Roo" or "things you'll be excited to return to Roo for." And somewhere along the list, he was like "and the third thing you will miss about Bonnaroo... hearing Tame Impala, Lizzo and Nine Inch Nails all from camp because you went too hard during the day!"
Seems like he was trying to get off the 3 2020 headliners there.
Did he just totally blunder and say the wrong band name? Did he mistakenly say NiN because they are halfway similar to Tool?
Speaking of Riot Fest, after NiN's incredible 2017 set, I've been doing a deep dive into their discography as well as Trent and Atticus's soundtrack work. And I'm not gonna lie, its been a very rewarding experience. I would love to see them on the farm.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

NIN is one of the first bands i was a megafan of, way back in sixth grade, so my perception is biased, but I think Reznor has done a remarkable job of taking his inherently angsty musical vehicle and navigating it into maturity, without ever really changing what it is or veering into cheesiness. like you can throw on The Downward Spiral or Bad Witch, and while they sound different they both are clearly Nine Inch Nails records. and even though reznor is in his fifties his angst still feels earned, not like he is trying to emulate what made his earliest work successful.
not saying his catalog is flawless, it certainly isn't, but he didn't have any huge missteps like other bands from that era did.

If this was 2009, I pray you saw me and my wife being escorted to the Albemarle County wagon and said to yourself "GEEZ WHAT DID THEY DO?!? BITE A COP?!"
