Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
My first RHCP show was with Stone Temple Pilots. They’ve gone downhill and have put us to sleep the past two times (Roo and ACL). I would be fine with never seeing them again.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Artists on the Firefly lineup I wish Bonnaroo grabbed
Khruangbin
Caribou
Turnstile
Taking Back Sunday (wish they were in the Dashboard Confessional spot)
Denzel Curry (sucks he was on the 2020 lineup and we lost him for 2021)
Yeah I've been requesting some emo/punk for Roo for years and was pretty let down by the Dashboard booking. Would have loved TBS, Foxing, American Football, the Wonder Years or Gogol Bordello in that spot. Pinegrove is a big draw for me though. And Turnstile would be sick. Always next year...
I was thinking about it, and I feel like Firefly could have potentially had the best lineup of the year if they just dropped The Killers (who will, for some reason, be headlining for the 4th time since 2012) and used that headliner money to beef up the undercard even more. The lineup is already a big improvement over at least the last couple years, and Billie, Tame, and Lizzo are a good enough trio of headliners without adding in The Killers.

Wait which lineup are you looking at? That thing reeks.

I mean, Billie-Tame-Lizzo sure is better than Foo-Tame-Lizzo. The second line veers hard into to typical Firefly fare but there's decent stuff sprinkled throughout. If they do day passes I might go.

I guess it just has a good bit of stuff I'd be excited for, some of that being overlap with Roo. Headliners are solid, some nice gets on lines 3 and 4, and a handful of other great undercard acts. I'm not saying it's as good as Roo's or anything, but if they hypothetically exchanged The Killers for 5 more solid undercard acts, I think it'd be really close. Outside Lands and Gov Ball lineups this year weren't great imo. No Coachella to compare to either.

A more fair comparison would probably be Billie-Killers-Lizzo-Tame vs. Foos-Tyler-Lizzo-Tame, which for me is basically a wash (Billie over Foos by a similar amount to Tyler over Killers)
Some decent stuff in the Firefly undercard despite a weak second line. I like the Roo undercard better on a personal level just due to some of the uniquely Bonaroo bookings (MMJ, Tipper, Goose, Turkuaz RiL, Makaya & Frisell on Sunday, etc.)
I'd be surprised if there were day passes for a festival that it seems chose to put Billie Eilish on the day people generally least want to attend.
I also don't think Billie is *that* interesting of a live act that her set is going to blow Foos' out of the water or something. They're kind of similar to me. Some songs I like and a lot of energy/showmanship/affect.

Lizzo and Billie will be irrelevant in 5 years . Mark this post !!!!!! Some archive it please
I mean, it's entirely possible that Lizzo never has another hit again (especially since her two most popular songs are basically two random singles), but whether or not you like her music I think we're stuck with Billie for the long haul.
