Currently listening to the Gizz live show they released from Adelaide and my god is it good. The metal stuff in the beginning was a little looser than I thought it would be. I’m sure live it’s a party but just listening to it doesn’t have the desired effect. But man once they get into everything else it’s such a wild ride and that’s the best version of head on/pill I’ve ever heard. 30 minutes long filled with so many of their other songs mixed in. I’m so fucking stoked. They better get 2 hours
i can't express how sad i am that i won't be there to see TOOL on the mainstage at bonnaroo. fuck that hurts, it's my last chance and i'm missing it
I am missing them at home for the first time ever on Feb 1 due to our parade. I have NEVER missed them since 1991. I have seen them double digits (12 or 13 times since 1993), one of the few that I travel for, I am seriously so sad. That being said. I have basically heard every song I have ever wanted to hear live but will be pit for them at Roo hoping for something unexpected.

i'd be right there with ya. the only time i've missed them was 2017 cuz i was at roo and they came here god damnit lol. we traveled to detroit to see em in nov because no date here yet. i can't wait to hopefully see some amazing videos from that set! i already know they're gonna pull out a couple songs they haven't played for a while at roo i think. no quarter or rosetta stoned or something
Don't plan on Tool play anything that they haven't been playing on tour. The only hope we have right now is they're about to play in Nashville. So maybe coming back so soon they'll mix it up more.

If I haven't listened to much King Gizz, is taking the plunge on these live albums a good way to get started/get into it?
I’d say probably. The key with Gizz is if you aren’t digging something maybe try the next track or next couple because they are pretty all over the place.

Just as good as any I suppose. I personally like the Paris setlist better. Just note that the Roo set will probably be lighter on the thrash metal.
I’m gonna argue that you get a better mix of their musical styles in Adelaide and Paris seems more one directional, but to each their own. As a suggestion for a noob I would go with Adelaide because I think their diversity is a big part of the draw, but check out either one. They’re both good
Two teens were in my shop looking and discussing the Coachella lineup and the guy said Kendrick was the worst rapper live but mentioned Swea Lee is amazing. I just had to post this somewhere. I just don’t understand how someone can think like this.
It's definitely not a bad idea to check out Tool music videos before seeing them. They draw heavily from them in their visuals for their live shows. I'm going to the Nashville show in a couple weeks so I'm going to be interested to see if the set list is any different than the last leg was.

Such a bullshit statement. Swae Lee's left stroke didn't even go viral.

I wonder how long the PIT line will be and how long of a wait Tool would bring?

I'm trying to figure that out as well. Friday is my most stacked day so I'm not wanting to have to skip a ton, but will if I have to.

Exactly what I was thinking and another reason for the splurge for VIP this year. Even if we can get a great spot we can always go to the hill at What or the side of Which.
If the scheduling gods do smile upon us and Miley is indeed opening for T00l, I plan on getting in the pit line right before the band before her finishes up. Right before she goes on at the latest.

That hill sucks so much, it's exactly why I don't buy VIP anymore. It's such a shitty angle and so far away. It's best during the day or for bands that don't do visual stuff. For Tool it would be terrible because it's so off center.

Tool is definitely someone I will not be watching from the hill, they are my number 1 see so I will be in prime position. But for the other bands who I may be ok with just hearing from a distance and relaxing I can see where the hill would be nice.

Do we think Tool will draw better than Phish did? Had no problems wandering around the field and getting pretty damn close for Phish on Friday without really trying.

Tough to say - probably not. But this year I believe will be packed nonetheless. I had already decided I wasn't going this year, and it was going to take a lot to change my mind. It was going to take a great card, and at least 1 of my favs. If Roo just had Tool and no one else I was interested in then I would probably skip. Also I believe most Tool fans aren't chasing that song like Phish fans do. We love seeing Tool in concert, but we know what kinda set we are going to get for the most part. I could be wrong though. Tool at Bonnaroo is something I have yet to experience.

I think there will be more than Phish, at least initially. Tool gets radio play and even the kids have heard a 10,000 days Tool song on the radio. Once a LN act or the Other starts popping off, I feel like a lot of that crowd will peel off for something else. Tool shows are amazing visually, but can be disturbing if you don't know what they're about or don't care for the bad trip vibe.

I’m a huge tool fan but that set at the Xcel in 2017 was pretty meh. You didn’t miss much.

Phish Sunday was a much larger crowd. I think Tool’s crowd will be larger than Phish Friday.
