Don't plan on Tool play anything that they haven't been playing on tour. The only hope we have right now is they're about to play in Nashville. So maybe coming back so soon they'll mix it up more.
But it's Bonnaroo!
I mean I think Tool threw out one extra song on their set in 2007, but I’m obviously not an expert and can’t be bothered to look it up ‘cause y’know it’s Tool. And they did have Tom Morello guest on a song too.
Also I won’t expect much song-wise from King Gizz, and not in a bad way, more that they just have so much fuckin’ material! But if I could get “Fishing for Fishies” and “Trapdoor” I would walk away totally fuckin’ content!

They usually have a couple that they rotate in the set. Like they do The Pot or Rosetta Stoned. At Bonnaroo they did both. That was the extra song.

Exactly this. I believe on this last tour leg they alternated Descending and the Pot, and then also Intolerance and Part of Me.
Fishing for Fishies would be dope. I'm still wading through King Gizz's discog but the fact that this band that does so much heavy and psychedelic music also made a song about feeling bad for fish who get hooked makes me happy.

Unfortunately I don't think they've played "Fishies" live yet. It's a great song but I think the vibe is off for their show/they haven't found a way to work it in yet
I was hoping I'd get the opportunity to say "they finally did it." this year.
What would've made you say that?? I've been MIA at bonnaroo the last 2 years. Honestly thinking about trying a different festival this year. Maybe I'm just getting older, but bonnaroo seems to be catering to a younger demographic. The last lineup I can honestly say I was super excited for was 2013. I've been since and have discovered many new and interesting bands, but maybe I've just worn out my welcome?? I've always done GA camping. I'd love to upgrade, but the price difference is just absurd. Bonnaroo has definitely come a long way since my first year in 2006. Some things they've tried/changed completely bombed. Others were a nice surprise. I'm with you in wanting to say they finally did it, but alas, that wasn't the case this year. I go to bonnaroo for the entire experience, but having more than just a handful of recognizable artists on the bill would justify the cost of a ticket.
I am missing them at home for the first time ever on Feb 1 due to our parade. I have NEVER missed them since 1991. I have seen them double digits (12 or 13 times since 1993), one of the few that I travel for, I am seriously so sad. That being said. I have basically heard every song I have ever wanted to hear live but will be pit for them at Roo hoping for something unexpected.
I wonder how long the PIT line will be and how long of a wait Tool would bring?
Save yourself a lot of trouble and pit on the right. Lots of issues with bees on the left. Unless they fixed that issue the last two festivals?
Okay okay okay we need an Adrian Belew set. I just found out on his solo projects Side One and Side Three have Les Claypool on bass and Danny Carey on drums on them. This is the time to make it happen!!!

I can confirm the problem has not been fixed. Last year the bees were something horrible for Brandi Carlisle.
2019 was my first year. I was in the pit line in the left for TBT, Brandi, and Phish on Sunday and didn’t notice any issue with bees. (Or is “bees” a euphemism for something that went right over my head?)

Nope. Literal bees. Sounds like you got very lucky.

Maybe because it was colder, I got stung like 4 times in 2016 during LCD, I always right side pit now

Yeah has to be because of the weather last year. I got tore up 14 and 15 waiting for Kendrick and Kanye.
I'd i feel like tools been leaked for a while, Oysterhead and turkuaz were pretty much expected as soon as they announced shows, at that point I was Ampersand or bust

I got lucky the first year I went and did t have any issues. Been back three times and wouldn’t go to the left if my life depended on it. Bees are bad. The wife got stung pretty bad and it’s just not worth it. Make sure to stick to the right side if you want to enjoy the festival and not have welts all weekend!
