People saying they like Glass Animals is an inside joke, right?
Glass Animals in 2015 and 2017 were both amazing sets. Dave has a beautiful voice and all the musicians are talented. Never heard many people hate on them.

How are they different than Walk The Moon/Empire of the Sun/Moon Taxi/any band you’ve heard featured on a Honda Civic commercial? Genuinely curious, only trying to be slightly snarky.
I know, right? You listen to Blaze On think “I can’t believe they needed a separate lyricist to come up with this,” but then you listen to Soul Planet or whatever and it makes sense.
realized this morning i'm still pissed off at you that Richard Pictures isn't actually at bonnaroo.

Gotta be honest, my response to this is that I’m thinking I should be more vocal about how corny they are. If this isn’t just known information then I will take it as my sole duty to shout it from the rooftops. But for real though, they corny.

I never really felt them as corny, more funny and weird. Corny to me is love songs making too lame and general of sayings. Glass Animals are more quirky and have odd lines usually involving food like “You just wanna know those peanut butter vibes”, “pineapples are in my head”, “ My girl eats mayonnaise from a jar when she's gettin' blazed”. I guess to each their own on what’s corny, I just find lyrics like that intriguing. Plus that mixed with having meaningful songs like Agnes just makes those songs hit deeper for me. It’s like trying to hide behind childish things to cope with big issues like losing someone you loved, heartbreak, ect.

Might not be different than any of those bands, as I love Empire of the Sun, Moon Taxi and I loved Walk the Moons first album a lot.

Mahgeetah was featured in a beer commercial. Just something worth pointing out.
Glass Animals are a decent band that had an interesting debut album and then subsequently were consumed by the LiveNation marketing machine. Similar to alt-J, imo. They lost some of what made them interesting as they got more mainstream play, but they're not a bad band. Their sounds are more unique to me than most of the stuff played on the radio.

“You just wanna know those peanut butter vibes”, “pineapples are in my head”, “ My girl eats mayonnaise from a jar when she's gettin' blazed”.
“One pair of candy lips and your bubble gum tongue”
EDIT: to be clear, I’m an unashamed Mayer fan, but it’s the corniest lyric he’s ever written (and that’s saying something)

I don't really get the Glass Animals hate tbh. I think they're a pretty solid band. Like Jaz said, they have a fairly unique sound that is good at eliciting a certain mood. And I think their rhythm and percussion is consistently great.
Like holy shit why didn’t you guys tell me about this earlier
We've been talking about them forever. They once were the Top headliner - ref. Lolla 1993. Check out their Woodstock '94 show or at least My Name is Mud and watch thousands upon thousands of people going at it like no crowds of that size do anymore or ever probably will again.
Several pages back, someone asked about them and I said Sailing the Seas of Cheese (2nd release) was the best album, and it's the one that put them on the map. If you've only listened to them, they have a bunch of exceptional official [tm] videos out there. Here are a couple. Les is high art.
Tommy the Cat
Jerry Was a Racecar Driver
Here's a clip of My Name is Mud after the crowd stopped pelting them with mud. We need more insane hardcore inspired crowds in rock again as most of it is with the hard rappers these days.

I can't believe there's a Bonnaroo line-up with Tool, two Claypool shows, Tame Impala, Flume, Vampire Weekend, Lana, Tenacious D, King Gizzard, Run the Jewels and Flogging Molly and odds are I'm not there.
I had to buy Coachella tickets for Rage and Frank. And I love that line-up. But holy shit, this Roo line-up fits my musical taste for the best time since 2015 at least.
Primus's live shows are super fucking awesome too. Every one I've seen is a little bit different (kind of hard to make it that much different with the hits). One was at Hulaween and was just weird and creepy Primus. One opened for Tool and was rockin metal funk Primus. And one was a split Desaturating Seven / Hits double set.
Desaturating Seven is really weird and really good. The full album live set was a treat.
